    So, don't hunt.
    Especially while off duty.

If they want the load picked up it is up to them to get you that mt - not you.
If they send you a hundred miles away to get it, you are still paid the miles. And if you are late because of that, it is on them and not you.
I stopped worrying about this stuff long ago.

Our job is to pick up and deliver a load on time, whenever possible.
It is not logistics. That is what the planners are for - and CSR and DM's and...

I got a service failure once because I did not have an empty to go pick up my next load. I fought it and argued it and got no-where. Some people wonder why I am so angry and bitter at Swift, stuff like that would happen and set me off. The company I started with (Swift) in 2010 was wholly different in 2014 when I left.

Which reminds me I better check my DAC report to see if they ever removed the incident where somebody claimed I ran them off the road in Indiana when my logs showed I was in Washington state. Safety said it was my DM's job to remove it, DM said it was Phoenix's job to remove it. Called Phoenix, chick says "you don't understand, we field hundreds of calls every day about Swift drivers running people off the road, so we can't check each one and we don't have time to fix mistakes...".

Found an empty trailer once near the shop, no red tag but it did have a glad hand lock on it. I happened to have an extra glad hand on hand so just took my wrench and removed the whole glad hand and lock and threw it in the trash then put on the new glad hand and booked on out the gate.

Yes, it's actually going to be better then a 3000 mile week. And I will still have those. Has between 13 and 26 stops with stop pay on each and once you get to last stop take mt back to Miami. Runs are between 1750 and 3200 round trip.

It was an OSD trailer, it's how OSD holds a trailer for later loading ... but there was no need to be a jerk ... just ask them and they will remove the lock and let you have the trailer.
