Wolfy, next time you have to call onroad for a flat be sure to mention the closest place that has road service especially if its a national like TA. Although there are some outstanding people with onroad most of them have an IQ lower than a coyote.

Squeak, you must have been right behind me and if you only had 25mph you were lucky. I stopped at the Loves at exit 71 in OK for my 30 minute DOT nap and my anemometer showed steady 32mph with gusts from 40 to 45mph. It was a hairy ride to Vega, TX where I turned north heading for Pueblo. I have decided my hood has a wind magnet. I went from 8.6 last night through the first 1000 miles to 7.9mpg now 600 miles later. Mystic is somewhere behind me I believe.

Right there would be a problem for me.

I don't recall ever having sent a text to anyone.
I know how to read them and delete them. That's about it.

And please don't give me instructions. I just want my phone to be a phone, plain and simple.

I started heading north at Muskogee. Didn't hit the wind until I got on the 35 and it was at my back to Wichita ... in Dodge for the night and catching the crosswind now ... will be in Pueblo tomorrow AM and have a load out to UT.

I'm delivering at Target by 8am. I'm not even going to look for a load on Mac30. I'll call my Command guy a few minutes after 7am central. My Business Partner planners can kiss my hairy butt . I'm heading for Phoenix to have a sit down with Joran and hopefully Brian to discuss the ongoing breach of contract and violation of the Federal Fair Trade Act as evidenced by the behavior of the planners and CSRs.

    Hmmm...
There are grooming techniques that will cure the hairy butt problem.

    I wish I had an 0800 delivery.
I deliver at a PetSmart at 0300 tomorrow, for my first stop of 3.
Then I pick up a live load headed for S. San Francisco, and I'll be lucky to have enough time on my 14 after pick up to find a place to park for the night.

Moose, I like my fur. Keeps me warm in the winter and cushioned all year.

I cannot do those 0300 type loads. Luckily I don't have to anymore. I am incapable of switching my body clock from being awake daytime to night.

After you leave SF the best bet is dash south on 101 to exit 355 to the Garlic Farm Center truck stop. Supposedly they charge $8 but I bought a sandwich and coffee and told him I was going to fuel in the morning so no charge. The next closest places are the Lathrop terminal, the ts on CA99 in Ripon or Wesley Triangle on I-5. I need my morning coffee so the rest area at the I-5/580 split has been a last choice I've never used.

Talking about wind-- From Dallas to Chicago, hit some nasty winds in Missouri and Illinois. On the load from Chicago to Calif, winds were really bad in Illinois and Iowa. I had topped off the tanks in Morris IL and topped them off again in Laramie WY, took 180 gallons. I was about to throw up. Nebraska was smooth but Wyoming was a bear as usual. No light trailers advised, lots of worryworts sitting in the TA breakfast counter that day at Laramie lol.

Battle Mountain NV, final leg of this 2100 mile trip.

it was a tire on the target trailer which we do not use onroad, Target handles the trailers themselves. The guy told me he was in LA and had to go to Montebello to get the tire and then come to me. 4 hours later I was finally running again, I got my load delivered and quickly turned around and got the Santa Maria load delivered and had 1.5 hours left on my 14 so I decided to try and backtrack as much as I could, ended up shutting down in the brake check area on the 166 just before Maricopa and its dark and dead here. I am the only truck except one who just pulled in for just a moment and left, its very quiet though not even a ton of traffic going by this time of night, I dont mind as long as nobody comes along and bothers me, I was just a little under a hour short on being able to make it completely back to the DC.

Its funny almost a year and never get a blowout and then I get 2 in the same month.
