If memory serves correct you are a l/o. If nothing in the morning maybe just tell them, you are heading home and they can just find you something along the way, and start across 70 to 287 and maybe just maybe there could be a trailer in Amarillo or DFW area. It is not like that Denver does not have their own planners. It would be worse if you had to deal with another terminal but Denver, they do have their own. Walk in their in the morning and just tell them, you want to talk to a planner, get you home or you just start to put the truck in the wind.

That's why you always let it go to voicemail, never good news when Swift calls. I remember a load, did my loaded call and split east out of Los Angeles a Friday late morning. About an hour later they blew up my phone and qualcomm. I just kept going east til I hit Mobile AL. What they wanted me to do is turn around and go back into LA in the afternoon and pick up some more freight-- get this they didn't even have a shipper yet, they just said head that way and we should have a place for you to go pick up some more pallets by the time you get there (only had half a load) to fill up your trailer.

Empty call did not go through so made a call, they asked why I didn't make my stop? I said I have a legit loaded call in the system and you cannot force dispatch me.

    Ripon, CA.

I had a very early start today, and only 2 hours left on my 70. I have good hours coming back in tomorrow.
On my way into CA I got pulled in at Donner for an inspection. Brake check week...
Everything went fine and I got a sticker on my windshield.
Swift has a score of 89, which is very bad. I'm really glad I had a decent trailer behind me.

I ended up calling Fontana to have my PTA reset for tomorrow morning. I was starting to get pplans that picked up at 2130 tonight, and I just wouldn't get any sleep.
That plan was picking up at Cow Palace to help with the circus, headed to Bakersfield at 0330.
Even if I had gotten sleep I didn't have the hours to do it. By the time I got to the pick up my 70 would have been near zero, and there was no way to make Bakersfield by 0330 if I couldn't start driving until midnight.
The planners should have seen that.

So I'm taking the rest of the day off and come back tomorrow at 0600.

Hucks/Pilot in Kuttuwa, KY. Lucky, my load was ready early. All of 32k. Took the route that the GPS actually gave me which was the same that I was thinking about and I should have rethink that one. US-421 up and through the Blue Ridge hills of NC and then US-321 from the west side of NC into TN. Made me think about a route that I have been on before in ID, one that company trucks are not allowed on. There was some definite s-curves and corners and the 20mph speed was not kidding and of course, 4 wheelers coming right up on me.

And you did this instead of the Interstate why?

Paid miles for this trip is 1536. This routing is 1566. Quite the scenic ride. The only other route would have been US-421 back to I-77 and then up to I-64.

Thousand Palms, CA. Across the street from the J at In-N-Out waiting for my food.

Getting really tired of Calif's games. Been pulled into EVERY open scale for the past 4 weeks. Took nearly 15 mins to get through the east bound Banning scale today.

Along I-5 in northern CA at a Love's.

I'm headed to WA with a very small and heavy load.
It's a total of 8 small pallets, 4 in the very front of the trailer and 4 over the tandems.
    43K of raw aluminium.
I didn't bother to weigh it, I just set the tandems all the way forward.

There were dozens of pallets lined up to be loaded, and a Swift was there when I arrived and another coming in as I left. Loading takes all of 20 minutes once you hit the dock, including the time to nail 2x4's front and back so they don't slide.
That doesn't bode well for a load out of WA.

It doesn't deliver until Thursday morning, and I was hoping for another load in this pay period.
Oh well. It'll only be a so-so week after all.
On the bright side, I wasn't given a load to SoCal. Hopefully I'll be heading east from WA.

Not really sure where I am. Exit 10 on I-29 in IA. Got going today and got up around Mt. Vernon, IL and ran into some real nice winds for some time.
