Been sitting in Joliet, IL at the route 66 since Friday night. Delivered to the Walmart DC and been waiting for a load since. Just called the planners and nothing will be available till tomorrow night.

Nothing to do but read my book and use the WiFi to watch Netflix.

Still sitting here. Woke up this morning to crap weather. I 80 covered from here to Des Moines and a little south with 18mph winds out of the South East. With 10k in the box guess wait till afternoon when it should have passed. Know that can wait until early morning and still make 1400 miles by Wednesday.

    Memphis terminal.

I had to bobtail from my delivery so I headed here because it should be easier to get an mt once I get another load.
Freight is short here, too. Still around 65 loads short from what the dispatch window said.

I've had nothing but good weather down here.

I'm back at the Lancaster terminal, but at least this time I have a load.
I got here a bt after 1600 to pick it up. It is just under 300 miles going to Fort Smith, AR for a 1200 delivery tomorrow.
I decided to avoid the Dallas traffic and head out at around 0530.

I-70 through Glenwood Canyon west of Denver is closed indefinitely due to a massive rock slide . I'm happy that I don't ever drive that route but it will truly suck for those of you that have to .

    Swift NEWS FLASH :
A detour route will be announced shortly and even though it will be well over 100 miles extra the paid miles will be increased by 60 miles .

    fairshake Thanks this.

And will that extra 100+ actual versus 60 paid miles also be along a slower route, just to add insult to injury?
    No doubt it will be.
    That is so BS!

Every driver should refuse any load along that route unless properly compensated for.

    fairshake Thanks this.

From the article--The shortest detour adds nearly 140 miles to the trip, taking traffic north to U.S. 40 and then back south to I-70.

I'm just outside Ft. Smith, AR, back in OK.
Delivered today at around noon and finished at about 1330. No pplan.
7 hours later, sill no pplan.

I'm at a casino/truck stop. Gambled a bit, lost a bit. Oh well, win some and lose some.

There are some other Swift trucks here, and several at the Pilot across the highway.
Is freight good anywhere these days?
