Flying J in Idaho Falls. Sure did get far today. I really do not care. I have until 0500 Wednesday to get 277 miles and no, Costco will not take early. Do not plan on making a big fuel purchase until after delivery. Today my DM tries to tell me sorry that I had to sit for 2 days. That the freight WAS good in SLC when he headed me there. Looking at a 1900 mile week and before home time next Monday, about 1700-1800 miles. Whoopee. 3700 miles for 2 weeks. Yeah right. Freight is picking up.

I finished my delivery before noon today, no pplan.
Headed to the Love's and waited. It was taking so long I did laundry and got a shower.
There was a pplan when I got back, but it had been removed just after it came in.
The next pplan doesn't pick up until 1600 tomorrow, headed to near Kansas City.
They were both picking up later tomorrow.

I took it, being afraid not to. Who knows when I might get another if I turned it down.
I'll be lucky to have 1400 miles this week.

They even sent a video a couple weeks ago telling us that freight was picking up by the end of March.
I wonder where all those loads are?!

They need to stop hiring new drivers. We can't afford it.

Ohh how I agree. Plus in what, in 1 years, bought out 2 companies. Did not see freight pick up then either. At least with all of this down time, sure catching up on DVD's. Finished House of Cards this weekend and started Game of Thrones. Already in the 2nd season. and just last week when stuck at a J, finished up some series that I was watching on Hulu. Love that site.

What I did in that situation is roll into the location Off Duty and go check in. If they say yes, come back and click On Duty and Arrival. If they say no, it's no big deal for all intents and purposes you legitimately pulled over off duty so no scolding from Mother Swift.

1,600 loads is like 10% of all drivers.
    That's huge.

Do some heads need to roll in the sales department?
Or is it really just adding more and more drivers each week that the system and economy can't support?

I will be there tomorrow afternoon and hide in the back of the lot. Lots better then sitting in the lot for 2 nights, plus did not need another 34. Just finished one.

Swift needs a lot of drivers to run short miles/week because of the way the appointments are spaced out.

That seems to be what I'm getting lately.

    (snip)
Sorry, but I had started out on a 'cop' sort of thing.
    DoubleO7 is exactly right.
