I'll say! I got there once @ 2:00 pm, snagged one of the last spots and spent the next 2 hours watching trucks circle the parking lot looking for ANY spot.

East Denver TA, delivering and picking up in the morning, and heading to Edwardsville. I think reefer is picking up good now, last week or two they have been having loads on me 24-48 hours ahead of time. It was this way last year about this time as well.

Reefer at full wind protecting ice cream. -20

Had that focus squared interview over the phone, or whatever they called it. Apparently you get 25$ for it. The guy doing it interviewed me a bit and went over the focus. What do your family and friends think about Swifts culture of safety? "It's a joke, I understand the company tries very hard and my family is fine with it, but this company has an undeniable reputation, and it is a trucking family." What do you think swift can do to improve safety? "Not sure, it's up to the individual drivers to make safe decisions, and the company does put out good advice in many regards, but the drivers themselves have to implement the ideas." I forget what else, asked and what I said some small talk, and other questions along the same lines, but then the presentation which is on ways to improve focus, watching caffeine intake and reducing distractions etc. Apparently they are trying to get everyone through this presentation in the next 60days. So have fun.

@Moosetek13 , I know it's thier job, but even suggesting you leave a child anywhere, they got alot of nerve. Also I'm amazed anytime I find parking in troutdale.

They don't want the problem so they try to get me to do something wrong.
I guess they simply don't think that she is not on her home turf, she is in a strange city (even in a different state) in an industrial area.

And these days someone would notice me dropping her off and ask her why she was sitting alone.
Then they would call social services and report it, and I would be charged with something. Possibly losing the right to see her and she might even be taken away from her mother because of my negligence.

Not to mention the fact that someone may notice and kidnap her.

A lot of nerve is right!

    Amen on that one.

Too think any parent, would drop thier child off, even if they were 18years old in some of the ####holes we go to. They are 100% USDA certifiable ####ing crazy.

Another example of a truck company putting more value on their freight than actual human life.

Passengers (even if they have a TWIC card) are strictly forbidden at the ports.

My response (to Moose's problem) might have been to have my child sit quietly in the sleeper with the curtain partially drawn. I've NEVER had anyone actually look in the sleeper.

It happened again this morning at my pick up at a paper mill in the same town.
She was in the sleeper but the guard asked if anyone else was in the truck. If he hadn't asked I would have kept quiet, but I'm not going to lie about it. That could cause all sorts of problems for Swift (and then me) if I did and the customer somehow found out.

So that load was voided and I was paid $50 for my trouble. The planner messaged that they were extremely sorry and that he would find me a new load.
One minute later I had a load headed to UT, and from there it is easy to get to Denver for my home time.
It's time to get Leann back home because school starts the following Monday.

    Ontario, OR at the Love's.

Having a 5k load sure is nice when going over Cabbage.
Yup, less than 5k of foam headed to a Home Depot DC near Salt Lake City.

I'm leaving the Edwardsville terminal in a few hours, delivering at Earp distribution which isn't barely a mile down woodend RD.

Then I'll head to Dennison IA to pick up tomorrow. And head to Sandiego CA with just enough time to squeeze in a 34.
