Good Night From II

And THAT'S why I took the entire 3-day weekend off. ALL of the ports are closed today and I wondered about the few that are normally open on Saturday actually being open. So when they wouldn't release my container Wednesday night I snagged an import with a 3:00 PM appointment on Thursday which guaranteed me the weekend off. It's MY bottom line and time with my family is more important then $$$$$$.

 

Spent the weekend in Disneyland ...

 

Same here, gates chained up, no answer on the phones. Guess I'll catch up on my Kindle.

Sitting at the <3 on I-74 between Indy and Cincinnati. Dropped in Indy, and headed toward Hebron, KY (where I'm hubbed), and stopped at the first place I had a shower credit.

At least they told me my afternoon load was cancelled before I got there and waited an hour...

 

Well, I'm finally finished with that load to Laredo that took WAY too long.
Finished it up at about 1200, and luckily both deliveries went smoothly.

I hate this area. Trucks lining the streets, making 2 lanes out of one, very tight docks.
But I was first in to the first delivery, which made things easy. The second was just about as easy.
And I must say, people are very friendly here.

Then no pplan for the rest of the day.
I got one tonight, though, headed to Oxnard, CA. I'm glad to be getting out of TX.

 

Got rid of mine too. Have to wait and pick up in Davenport IA (load not ready) then to Chicago, then Rice Lake WI, and finally I will end up in Ft worth, now if only the first two loads don't screw the third all will be well.

Everything is finally panning out on the job offer, will have to get a drug test somewhere in the next week. I will be giving my notice and my student will be done before I turn in the keys.

I deliver tomorrow afternoon in Oxnard, CA, then, who knows.


So, how about that message we got today that Jerry is retiring?
I wonder if anything will change with Richard in charge, and in what direction it might go.
