Shortly, it will be somewhere either over the Artic Circle or the Pacific Ocean. I just know, after leaving LAX at 0130, it will be 12 hours before see land again. Sure hope that the benedryl helps. So I guess good night is going to be about 35,000 feet in the air

Emptied out here in Sealy TX yesterday afternoon (Saturday). Monday being a holiday I may be stuck til Tuesday (love their song 'Voices Carry'....).

Ran into gerardo1961 (member from this board) here at the truckstop last night. I was trying to enter his phone number into my cell, Abby saw some cats and got a good full running start on her long leash and pulled me right to the ground scraping my arm and knee up. Later she wrapped around gerardo before I could stop her, next thing he was on the ground too. We're both OK thank goodness.

Today walking Abby in the grassy area, I saw something squirming, Abby saw it too and quickly went and grabbed it in her mouth and shook, I had to pull her leash really hard for her to let go and get back. I saw it was a rattlesnake wrapped around a dying rat trying to swallow it. Luckily he already had his mouth around the rat and was trying to untangle his fangs so I had time to get Abby back. He still struck out at us but was obviously exhausted and possibly hurt by her powerful bite. Later we went to check and the dead rat was still there but no snake.

Either get a shorter leash or learn how to use a Flexi right. You are responsible for your dog and it sounds like you can't control her.

I'll be spending the night in BFE, WA at a fruit house.

A rest area in BFE, Oregon.

I find it very odd that there are about ten other trucks in this rest area and not one single diesel motor is running. No power plants, no reefers, no APUs. In fact, the only motor running in this entire place is gasoline powered, in a pickup parked on the other side of the bathrooms.

    Very peaceful.

Squeaks, enjoy your visit with your wife. Here's hoping she gets to come home with you.

Back in Lancaster after a lot of back and forth from northeast Texas to Houston over to deep southeast Texas and back to Dallas area. Will be subbing on the shuttle again for several days starting Thursday so they have me doing some interesting local stuff tomorrow, more on that later.

Lesson learned for the day...when pulling a trailer with a rollup door, ALWAYS be sure the strap is free to hang within reach when opening the door. It does you no good at all when it is neatly stowed around the handle to keep it from flapping in the breeze when going down the road. Took me a while but I finally got the door down enough to unwrap the strap. Found another use for vise grips!

I get some funny looks when people on the docks see me carrying a fifth wheel hook with me. Until they see me reaching the bulkhead rope latches and closing the door with it. Then they think it's pretty cool.
