OK you're right. I actually got my tape measure out and checked it out 18.75 feet steers to center drives and 37 feet center drives to center trailer tandems works out to 5.44. Before, I had eyeballed it at 19 feet and guessed about 38 or 39 feet instead of actually measuring it.

Squeaks, stop starting so early, bottom line. You will only start and end your day when your Elogs tell you to. Sometimes you just have to suck it up and sit there til 1230 or 1300 waiting for that preplan, I know it sucks but don't ever try to think on your own again mister. Elogs will do all your thinking from now on. The Planners know what they are doing, invest 110% of your trust in these people to make your business a success. They are the back line pieces on the chess board you and I are just the pawns up front.

Scottie, I was told that when a long ways out, start the haul back to the DC and then grab one that is loaded and ready to go. When 60 miles or less away, then wait until pplan. When I arrived, there was more than 8 trailers that were loaded and ready to go. I was doing great with the other planner, but he is off now.

She's right. That's not how it works on Walmart dedicated. Any of them. This time, the problem was not with her. You should have called me before all this.

Injun, water under the dam now. The other planner and I had an understanding. She did not know about it. I tried to talk to her about it, and she just said, she was busy and expecting a conference call, and then within 10 mins, she made the decision. Today she was DM, Planner and Terminal MGR.

So it was revised last year. It's still valid, yeah?

Squeaks, let us know the final outcome. Be interested to find out whether things have changed since last time I was there.

If I remember right, there is a special drop/unload/appt number they will insist on having. They're kind of not really friendly there when they are swamped. Don't take it personally. They're like that to everybody.

Oh...and you kind of have to be persistent if you have one of those loads with the gate time sheet. They were snotty about filling it out for me.

Thanks Injun. I was looking at the load info again, and it shows a del appt #, not a drop. when I get there, I will either be dropping or sitting until the appt time. I have not been in there for quite some time.

@ Injun-- no, I had written up a whole post then decided to delete the whole thing. Redacted is only 8 letters, need 10 characters to make a post.

Permits went home without getting me the permit for Idaho and didn't even say goodnight. Early this morning they blew up my qualcomm, I just said, Don't worry about it I took care of it.

US12 is closed to Swift trucks is just a Swift policy, it is still a permitted truck route (must have overlength permit). Swift routes around evidently due to a few years back 11 Swift trucks went into the river over a 2 week period.

Ardmore, OK. It was a live unload. There where about 7 of us getting unloaded tonight. Finished with 3 mins left on my 14. This is one time that line 5 really comes in handy on the e-log.

I lose the bet. I'll buy your lunch from Joe in Lancaster if we run into each other there...or maybe the Six Dollah Chinese special at diner time!
