I'm itching too start sending applications and begin, but maybe I should stick to my plan and wait until all my bills are ALL paid and I have at least 3k in the bank if not 5 and 3 months of Cobra paid.
I REALLY APPRECIATE YOU GUYS TELLING THE GOOD, THE REAL, AND THE NOT SO GOOD, about the business! Thank you.

This flying j has to be the worst place to shower in all 48 states. No water pressure what so ever. I think I would have had a better shower filling a trashbag and poking holes in it, yea that bad. Shoulda went 5 miles down the road to Pilot. Tried to get my shower credit back, but you already know how that went, but I did get a free soda, lol.

Getting real windy here now, truck is a rockin, and not in the good way either, calling for 20% snow tonight and flurries Monday, great I get to unload in snow.

Next time im rolling thru here, Pilot it is.

    Still in St. Joseph MO.
4 days and counting, but I do have a load picking up tommorow morning.

I called my DM this morning. He said "you are number 4 on the list. Just a sec, something doesn't look right. I'll get back to you."

Turns out I made a boo-boo when doing my last e-call.
    I mistakenly set my pta for 12/12 1600 instead of 01/12 1600.
(well, it was 0430 after a live unload after driving all night after a breakdown just as I went on duty, after all)

I had called Fontana on Saturday and asked about my pta, and they didn't notice it.
And the system, which normally kicks back a bogus pta, didn't.

That next paycheck is going to be sooo sweeeet!
(edit: Just got a message from my DM. He submitted a request for 5 days layover pay. :biggrin_25514:)

So I pick up tomorrow morning and deliver the next day at 1100, then it is to the terminal with the truck for some shop time and I am taking some home time - since I worked through all the holidays.

Gonna make me a nice big turkey dinner. :biggrin_25525:

    Casper, WY I25 exit 185 @ Flyin J

Snowed all day on me, and right now. Few spots on US 18 where the road disappeared on me, but I plowed thru and made delivery 1hr ahead of schedule. Next delivery is down in Cheyenne, Wy @ 0800 on the 17th, roads are nasty on the 25 so I called it a day and parked it.

Anyone planning on doing the 25 be careful, few greasy spots out there. Well from Casper, wy down to the us18 where I went north. Im sure colorado is the same, not driving that @ night, but unfortunitly I do have to in early am.

I guess I'm not a 'real' trucker yet.

I loved to hunt out the snow in my earlier years. But now, with a big rig, I am scared to run in it.

That hinge behind me, with the back end just waiting to come around.
All that weight that is next to impossible to control in a slide.

I am not about to 'plow through' anything.
I'll shut it down and wait for clear roads.
