Went to pick my drop/hook load but the trailer number to be picked up was not on my QC. After waiting an hour for an answer, I dropped the empty trailer then bobtailed back to the local truckstop for breakfast. Finally got the trailer number around noon and went to grab it. This load is taking me home tomorrow yay. \\

Ontario CA east and west are full up. Word on the street, bigtime freight crunch west coast. Happy to be going home loaded and will sit for about a week, hopefully things will pick up when I come back.

Back in Las Vegas. Took a short one just to get outta PHX. Fr8 supposedly better up here. Did a MAC 30, one load offered, and nope, dh 161 up to UT, live at 1700 on the 17th, and deliver over to Stockton on the 19th at 0100. Not playing with that CA fr8 again. Asked my DM to please send a msg to the planners for this area, try and get something that I can finish the week with, and I pretty much got a reply back, take what you get. Forget the help.

This is a skinny time of year. Nothing new to the industry. My question would be where is the most highly booked area and would it behoove you to move yourself there? West is usually the worst place to be for the first three weeks of January.

Most recently I was there for about 50 hours waiting for a load. So taking advantage of the time decided to get an oil change and crank case filter-- called Kenworth there, they said they were busy. So went over to Peterbilt Rush and asked, they got me right in no problems. Problem was, once the truck crosses the threshold of their shop, the driver is not allowed in, and they charge by the hour as long as it is in there regardless whether they are actively working on the truck. For instance, they had to send a guy out to Kenworth to get the crank case filter and he was gone for 1.5 hours. I suspect he went to the local girly bar for lunch and maybe home for a quickie too. Anyway they got $760 of my dollars that day.
