/Hey Blsqueak, I remember seeing you down there in Columbus today.
Weren't ya wearing a large jacket with some fur like hood?or am I thinking of someone else -
Why would they take it off of me before I even had time to get the Qualcomm fireed up? I just thinks the whole situation is silly... DM then tells me my home time request had expired.?.. I'm like ok, why? I just go where the voices tell me to go. Problem is they ain't saying much of anything this week.scottied67 Thanks this.

I think the layover thing qualifies after 24 hours with no preplan. If they offer you a preplan at 23:59, boom they don't have to pay layover pay whether you can do the load or not, it was offered. You can't win, they will just say they offered the load to 20 trucks and somebody answered quicker than you, you can't prove or disprove what they tell you.
Hometime expired, that's a new one. How does that work? Try again next month? -
Yea, recruiter forgot to mention it to me, I guess.scottied67 Thanks this.

What if you're under a load but you sit for 34 hours? Because lets say no early deliveries. Between the last three days I've only worked 3.5 hours. Life is tough being underworked and over paid.

My definition of Layover (somebody correct me if I'm wrong) is being available for dispatch for 24 hours or longer without a load offered to haul. I think it pays $50 bucks.
If you're under a load, no layover. Taking a 34 on a load means too much time on the load but not necessarily a bad thing. Psychologically, I'd rather do a 34 with a load than bobtail lol. -
the wife and i decided the money i wasn't making wasn't worth the time away from home. i turned in the truck during the first week of january. now i have a part time job at a local hobby shop.
i got what i wanted out of trucking as far as seeing the country and driving a big rig. now it's time to try something new. let's see, sailing classes or flight school...
and, good night from san diego again.Injun Thanks this. -
Back in Lancaster after shuttle run to Prescott. Load out of Memphis was 2 hours late, got here with 45 minutes left on clock at 0330. Sorry Scottie, sleeping late today!

Nope. I avoid that terminal. Only stop for fuel or drop a t-call. Still sitting waiting. They did send me one late last night. Sent at 2035 to pu at 2100 in cols, a JIT, then drive all nite to del at 0800 in WV. It was at the yard. They sit on it and wait until the last minute to send it out. I would have refused if seen it. Not playing the game of up all day waiting then be asked to drive all night. It is not safe. Then by the time that arrive there would have to sit again because hours would be just about up and the computer would say that do not have the HOS to accept another load.scottied67 Thanks this.
