Made Bakersfield. Deliver tomorrow, then take a week off. Make some jerky, have a beer and do my taxes.

 

Florence, SC at the J, I-95, x 169. I have a front end shimmy (tire out of balance) after my B service and new front brakes. Onroad is getting it fixed at the shop here.

Pulled 45k (78,985 gross) from Pa today with really strong front quarter winds from VA south and got 7.6mpg. My humble suggestion to those of you trying to squeeze mpg is set your cruise 1-2 mph below whatever your governor speed is. Mileage improves if your cruise isn't constantly nudging the governor. Losing 1mph over 11 hours is 11 miles...

My governor speed is 68, and still keep the cruise at 63-65. Does not change. Just been alot of 25-30mph headwinds and front quarter, and that has been for just about every day for the last 30 days.

 

Still in Ontario CA. Good news, got a load out but waiting now for a team to tcall it at the terminal around the corner.

A little drama earlier I heard about at the dinner counter so I didn't believe it til I went out to see the evidence for myself--

A DHE driver got back to his truck after an all day bender, threw it in high reverse and slammed into a parked custom curtainside trailer. Took 6 cops to get this big boy in a custody van (too large for a cruiser) because he refused to get in voluntarily.

 

It would have been, but I know that it was not. the driver was still there when I arrived, and he was just going to then drop his mt. I told him that since he did not drop, that my load was re-scheduled because they needed the mt for my load. He acted like he did not really care. And this is a Mentor. I just wonder what he is teaching his student. Even the security guard told me what happened. At least I am getting detention for all of this now.

 

Still in Memphis, not happy..
Up since 0430 waiting on a pp.. just got back from dinner, 2 loads on me now. P/u 2359 del 0500, after that run 98mi to 2nd load and del 0630 next day. Uh no.
Called night zombie in phx, said to mac 9 to decline. Went to tcall window, please take off me, told to mac 9. So I mac 9, reason, up since 0430 waiting on load, can't run safe being up 24hrs.
3hrs later, loads still on me.
30 minutes left till 1st load picks up and they kept it on me. Wtf is up with this..?
pta set for 0630, so screw um. I declined loads, not my problem.

 

Wind? Try 80+ mph that hit Tom and I outside Laramie Wyoming last night. Bout took is out with 11000 in the wagon.scared us enough to hide behind a hill the rest of the night
