I got a load out of Bush Beans in Dandridge TN once too lol. The yard jockey was really nice. I was walking Abby around looking for an empty as the 3 that I had already looked at had misc pallets and junk in them. This guy pointed me in the right direction.

Post Falls ID tonight. Loaded trailer had a questionable tire, burned out clearance light and inpection due in 2 weeks so took it to Sumner for a looksee. They fixed the light only and sent me away without an inspection and the tire was still shredded. What a colossal waste of time! 118 miles empty and 434 miles loaded with a live unload at the final. Doable if I didn't lose all that time at Sumner. Thank you to the driver(s) who continually drop and hook trailers with burned out lights and bad tires, leaving the problem for the next driver.

I agree scottied67. To many drivers don't take the time to red tag at pos trailer and just leave it for the next guy to deal with. Many of nights have I spent replacing lights and it always seems to be in bad weather. If there is an issue, just pop a red tag on it, please.

Still here in Laredo, hope to get a semi decent load that's a wed delivery to make a decent week. Nice storm rollin thru, watching the lighting dance around as the thunder echos from afar.. happy I held off on getting the truck washed today.. $40 saved

Virginia beach, VA at Big Charlie's Truck Plaza where I get to pay $8 a night to stay on property probably worth millions. Got to my final in Norfolk last night after running hard from Knoxville and sat for five hours before I was even docked. Asked the receiving person what the point of appointments was and she shrugged and said she wished they would talk to the receiving department beforehand. Seems every truck from every company that arrived had the same appointment time. I sent my DM a msg asking the same question. [Crickets chirping....]

Sent my standard macros, directed macro and freeform macro that I was doing a 34 reset and only had minutes left on my 70. Sure enough, at 2am get a pplan from Target in Suffolk to Chambersburg, PA, all of 276 miles, picking up this morning and delivering tomorrow by 5pm. Sent mac9 turndown with all zeros for the eta, pta date and time with the remark, "pls read my previous msgs", and went back to sleep. Load was removed, imagine that!

It is possible to creep 4.7 miles with the QC e-logs only switching to drive line a few times but if you stop and pop and change back to off duty it forgets it violated you. Also, the Norfolk cop that pulled me over going 15mph with the hazards on at 11pm didn't believe I was having a problem with the engine not developing power, trying to limp to the shop at the truck stop. He said to call the non-emergency number next time and they would be happy to tail us over so we wouldn't get rear ended when we ran out of drive time and had to do the e-log shuffle.

    Frank

EDIT: Forgot to mention, the Norfolk cop's brother worked for Swift until a few months ago, now Landstar. He knew all about e-logs.

Sittin' by the Dock of the Ponderay (ID).

Mac 30 is showing nothing but Canada destination loads so I called Canada direct and asked the guy on horseback with the red jacket what all is involved regarding driving a commercial vehicle into their country with a dog on board. Shouldn't be a problem, so in commemoration of Abby's 1st year anniversary on the truck, we are taking a load to Canadaland. Hope we don't get beheaded by the drug cartels.

Frank ... SOP for grocery DCs ... Doesn't seem to matter which company or where in the country, with rare exceptions, you wind up waiting.

Scottie have you been cleared to go to Canada ... I believe you either need a passport ... or pass card issued by Swift. Unless something has changed in the last year.

Yes I gave a copy of my passport to my fleet manager last year. I think driver's who don't have the passport on file will not even see the Canada load offers.

In orientation a couple years back, I filled out the FAST application but never heard back on the results whether I was in the system or not.
