Good night from...

Home at good old Buckeye Lake. Taking some much needed time off the truck after 5 weeks on the road. Wifey is cooking Chinese tonight, real Chinese food, and tomorrow, get ready to head back out for another 5 weeks.

Deadheaded here from Yakima, WA yesterday to pick up my new lease truck. Spent the morning meeting my new DM (am NOT going with the PHX O/O POD) then signed enough paperwork to buy a house. Moved into the truck today but since we post dated the contract til Thursday (which saved me a week of add-on costs....which ARE NOT pro-rated) I'll be here til Thursday am.

We aren't too far away, Spokane WA. I wasn't dispatched right away after my empty call, so called in and evidently a driver is taking the loaded trailer to Usk WA where I was to pick it up and take it to Calgary AB. That driver had not shown up yet to Usk as to why I wasn't dispatched. I waited a couple hours up in Ponderay ID then said to heck with it, I'm going to Spokane and getting a shower and shave. Good call too, because still am not dispatched.

 

Made houston swift/central yard no problem. Talked to a few central drivers which were real nice. Pta set for 1100, fingers x'd I can start my week off w/ a nice run.
To much sitting this past few days, lost my momentum need to get back rollin.

I love planners..or csr's..whatever..
so I don't have the hours to run up into PA, so I Tcall this load for them. Now they want me to run up into Boston further away... really?

I seriously think swift needs to 'drug' test office personnel, or teach them how to read a map, look at drivers hours, pta...etc

Now I know what Mica Bay means. Went through there from Post Falls to Lewiston. Here for a bit to get my Canada credentials.

 

Beauity at its best eh? I lived on that bay for 3 years costin me only 16 hrs of labor a week during the Winter and room/board was included in the job the rest of the year. Winter/spring is the best time of year because the only boats are the few brave ones fishing.
