Yup Laredos scales are about 2000lbs off, that's for sure. I just experienced
that tcalling my load in PHX.
I just had my B service done in PHX few days ago, now my truck kicks on the fan
going up an on ramp, she gets hot real fast, and fan pretty much runs nonstop.
fluids are good, wires are all connected, its strange.
So I've been calling and msging to get a load out of Pueblo now for quite awhile
and decided to say F it and take this billings, mo load. So I called and asked the
night zombie dm lady, she informed me they took it off me.. ok, fine but when
did they stop sending load removals to me, this is the 5th one in 2 months that
I've had removed w/ no notification, thanks csr I appreciate that.
I sent in mac 30 and guess what's there?! My load that got removed.. hmmm
I know im getting a load offer from target later to p/u at night time after I've been
up all day.
I knew once I got here this would happen, but chasing miles to meet my payment
this week is sucking major swift.
Good night from...

Zuki, I know the feeling. Been doing MAC 30 all day yesterday and again this morning, and they keep sending me the same one that is a definate Plus 1, pu here in Sparks, 1000 and del 500 miles at 1930, a load of dog food, down to Redlands. The offer does not even show the weight on it. Perfect example that Plus one bites. Talked to my DM yesterday and he told me that have all day to PU and until midnight Sunday to deliver, just not going to commit to a time on MAC 30 when know that can not do it. Between the stop lites and hills and two lanes and construction, just not going to happen. And then what, sit in CA until Monday.

They used to put a silver type sticker on the trucks- driver's side inside batwing. They used to mark the last inspection with the mechanic's initials next to it and when the next inspection is due. The mechanic I spoke with yesterday mentioned that since Swift changed the oil change intervals to 35,000 from 20,000 miles, it's possible trucks could go well more than 90 days before seeing time in a shop for an inspection.
Is this a new policy on not reimbursing company drivers for oil purchases? Tell your story Steve, I'm very interested in who told you that you as the company driver has to buy the oil the company truck consumes. It used to be that anything you bought for the truck, all you had to do was scan the receipts in with your trips and get paid back. Although I think a better solution is to use that macro that puts money on the comdata to pay for stuff like that.
When I first leased my truck, the first 30 days anything breaks Swift pays for it. I scanned in a receipt for a headlight bulb since it burned out and needed to be replaced. Swift deducted the money from my maintenance account lol so I had to pay for the light twice.
The bloom is off the rose now. But keep the faith, your business partner has only your best interest at heart! -
I know the feeling.
I delivered a live unload at 0700 this morning then went to the closest TS.
Shortly after I got a pplan that picks up at 0100 tomorrow morning, 388 miles away.
It was actually a double pplan, the planner saying that he gave me a short load so he could give me a longer one.
Well, it turns out that I can do the first, but I don't have enough hours coming in on my 70 to do the second in the time allotted. I'm told to do the first one and turn down the second.
Well, I can almost do the first load - I'll be about 90 minutes late for pick up because I have to take a 10 before I can roll, otherwise it would be another hour later for PU.
But it's a pre-loaded with plenty of time on the delivery, so I'll just Mac 22 it and hope I don't get a service failure for a late pick up.
By the way, I am near Rock Island, IL. -
Right.
And that way you get to eat the ATM and Comdata charges.
If I have the cash to pay up front, that's what I do.
A scan for cash back is cheaper.
As for paying for oil, I don't know if it has changed. The last time I paid for oil I was paid back.
But that time gave me an oil container that I get filled whenever I need, at a terminal at no cost.
And even older trucks don't usually go through oil faster than I usually get to a terminal.
I don't think the policy has changed. It's just that sometimes you don't get reimburssed for something.
Just like I sometimes don't get paid back for tolls, unless I call payroll and rag on them a couple weeks later. -
Did another MAC 30, and that same load is still there. The only difference, the PU time was pushed out until 1030 and the DEL time was changed to 2030. Still just giving a driver 10 hours to get 501 miles, which comes out to a avg speed of 50mph from Sparks to Redlands. Plus 1 at its finest. Why just not be honest about the PU time and Del time, and maybe somebody would take it. I would bet that if it is still around come morning, it will become a pplan for somebody, and then will have better times on it.
-
squeak ... you do the first part of what I do. Call your DM and find out the actual times. Then if I want the load I take it and deliver it when I can. Sometimes earlier than Plus One, sometmes later. Don't bother with MAC22s and I've yet to get a SF for showing up after the Plus One time, but before the actual end of the delivery window.
Wheatridge TA. Unload tomorrow, then pick up going to Milwaukee. -
West of Newberg OR. At the TA

I understand. It is just that it has been drilled in my head, if load offer on the MAC 30, that is what you are committing to as far as the times. And this being the weekend, talking to ECT is worthless since they are not going to tell you anything. It is okay. Finally a pplan, pu dog food and two stops in OR on Monday. When sent, pu time of 0001, preloaded trailer. said that I would pu at 0600 in morning, and right away, new pplan with my times on it. First time that this has happened to me.
Also keep in mind, what told on the phone on a friday and what happens on a Sat when it is ECT, two different animals.Last edited: Jun 2, 2012

At a Loves in Buckeye, AZ about 20 miles west of the Phoenix terminal because I simply refuse to spend the weekend in that hole plus it was only 105* out here as opposed to 111* at that asphalt covered cesspool. They understandably cannot rework my load until Monday morning and refused to tcall it with a tone, from the weekend planner in Laredo, like I was being punished.
I have already sent an email regarding their defective scale to my FM and TM strongly recommending it be calibrated, paved over or used to demonstrate what a minor earthquake in CA feels like but in the meantime put it out of service. I am highly incensed that no one bothered to mention the scale was 2000# off or that I might want to scale it around the corner at the Pilot to verify the weight nor are there any signs at the scale, guard shack or dispatch window warning of the inaccuracy. But I get to spend the better part of three days with my unpaid thumb up my unpaid *** while being treated like the unpaid goat. I think not!
The highlight of the day was I got to meet SteveH85396 this afternoon and we might have some time to chat Monday as well. His new Cascadia is cool and a really neat color. There are a bunch of new Prostars there in silver and maroon as well as fire engine red KW Studio Sleepers that I'm drooling over. Have to force myself to remember the lease simulation has to be for a year before I make the decision but, wow, are there some nice shiny new trucks there.
