Whelp, I got a load.. from hell.. lol
I took a load from kimberly clark here in Corinth, ms and now im shut down for 5hrs.
the loaded trailer has 2 flats, onroad wanted me to limp over to the memphis terminal.
well, he said then im looking at 4hrs till someone will get here, hmm, took me 1½hrs to drive
    here why 4hrs for them?
loads to be in Laredo, Tx @ 0800 on the 10th, hmm can I pull a rabbit out of my hat, time will tell.
so here I sit, with a sharp ear I might add, listening for any sign of banjo playing..
last driver to pull this trailer should be put on safety hold and made to change tires all day in a yrd
for dropping this with tires looking this way, seriously. If you missed these tires on a pretrip you
should be at the eye doctor asap.

Thinking of firing up the grill and going squirrel hunting while I wait. Anyone for a leg or two? I cook a mean critter.

    Yes.

Tonight, maybe tomorrow night, then I need to find a load getting me to Denver for some home time with my daughters.

My wife put me on safety hold... Needed to do three days of hometime before she would let me out on the road again. I'll be rolling again Monday morning out of Sumner.

Prescott, AK T/A ran the clock down to 12mins. Ended up taking 5½hrs to get tires, fun.
running crackhead shift lately, not to bad, as ya can breeze thru metropolitan areas with 2 or 3 4-wheelers next to ya.
hard to sleep in the day, for me, as I wake up around noon sweating, but life happens.
if I push it to the N'th minute tomorrow I can be in laredo @ 0015 IF I hit no snags or delays. Might
mac 22 this load and take my time, stop n eat etc..

Does Swift charge $80 bucks for the kit? What all does it include?

Abby just wants to sniff your butt Mr Rabbit...

ATTN: Swift mechanic, you must first sand the rust off the bumper then paint it before applying the reflective tape, DOT says people can die from a poor job like this.

Yes, they did charge, and it is not a bad kit. First, there is a 60' long air hose, a nice bunk fan and then a kit full of fuses, trailer lights, gromets and glad hands. In the tool kit, about 5 open end wrenches, couple of cresent wrenches, hammer, tire guage, screwdrivers, pliers, channel locks, 1/4 - 3/8 drive ratchet set and there is some more, hex key set and a flashlight. I think that there is more, just can not remember now. To hot to go outside and look.

Lawrence, KS. 400 miles of cross winds today, with a lite load. Thought that I was going to get lucky comming out of Denver, tailwind. Hit KS, and it changed drastically.

I hear ya ... going west through Wy today, 30mph sustained and 50+ gusts mostly head wind ... MPG is in the toilet ... Little America.

squeak, what did the fine people at Coors reject your trailers for? Mine was rejected for the sideboard plate pulled away from the wall ... Road service let the T/A patch it up and was accepted.

You got a fan in yer kit? man I got ripped.. :(

Made laredo tonight, even with a lil detour to lancaster terminal for a splash of fuel,
which concerns me. Does swift calibrate their fuel pumps at all? Reason I ask is this is
the second terminal I've popped 50g in and when I did my mpg math I swear im short
10g of fuel. Just curious if any other o/o has noticed this. The 2 terminals I've found
im being shorter are Lancaster & El Paso. Saving up to. 30c a gal might not be an actual
savings is pumps aren't dispensing the correct amount...

So its 0015 here in Laredo, I stroll up to the window and shoot the #### w/ the night guy
give him my truck # and say "how much beer would it take to get this load Tcalled" jokingly
and he goes hang on.. starts typing and says, ok yer good, get the trailer inspected in the am
and bring bol in for Tcall, and I put a load on you to Tcall in PHX, get the load to PHX soon as
you can, as long as its there by Wednesday. Easy 2 day 1000mi run to end my week and take
my home time after 15weeks out.. ohh I can taste the beers now.

    scottied67 Thanks this.
