God's Country, Coeur d'Alene, ID... Got to play tour guide via the CB from Lookout Pass all the way over to The Lake City. Nice to be back in the company of some friends.

    Thanks for the information.

Were it not for the note in my dispatch that says "Do not drop Walmart load before delivery day" and the delivery date & time (on the BOL) of 07/10 2101 I would have dropped it already. As it is I need a 34, so I'm camped out at a hotel about 12 miles from the Walmart DC. My 34 will be up @ 2:00 am on the 10th so depending on what's available (for another load) I'll deliver it sometime between then and noon (check out is 11:00am).

We picked up in Baltimore this AM and are Chicago bound. We are somewhere along the Ohio Turnpike a little more than halfway to final.

Walking Abby around the outskirts of the plaza, we got over near the gas pumps and a 4 wheeler had come in for gas. Two couples got out as we were walking by and their dog bum rushed Abby. Abby deftly took their dog straight down to the ground, it was screaming and yelping bloody murder. I got Abby pulled off right away and we continued on our walk but the couples were yelling F word profanities at us as we left lol like it was all Abby's fault.

Anyone who's seen Abby's videos on youtube will clearly see she is not an aggressive dog. She's been in a few scraps at various dog parks but it has always been the other dog that started the fights. It was always Abby who came out on top.

    No kiddin'!

We get drops too - our verson of QualComm shows it as 0001 - 2359, and the confirmation number may or may not have "DROP" appended to it. LOL! If you have a hard appointment though (I'd imagine most of your freight is drop n' hook) it means that you have to be at the receivers window (aka the CTO in Walmart-speak) BEFORE the appointment time, or they will mark your appointment record as being late.

That is a delivery time window, and quite different from 0001-0001.

At the Pilot in Newnan, GA hooked up to IdleAir. For a 10 hour break it's almost the exact same cost as idling my truck PLUS it's quiet and I get shore power for my laptop. Did I mention I REALLY hate to idle my truck?

Spent over 8 (yes, EIGHT) hours at a shipper today. Seemed they had a issue with loading only 3 rolls of paper (12096 lbs) so they flat refused to load me. I got proactive and stated firing off messages to Lewiston. Long story-short, I'm gonna get paid quite a bit in detention pay and ended up with a 4th roll of paper going to another customer on the trailer. Lightest (19000 lbs) paper load I've ever hauled.

I'm not sure how I could have handled it differently. Leaving without the load would have not only cost me the load, I would have wasted a bunch of time and never say a dime of detention pay. Still, I hate the fact I ran less than 200 miles today and parked with 25 minutes left on my 14.

Winter and fall is the best time to be up there, plenty of critters running around that need to be put in the freezer. Also the snow drives the Californians away for a few months!
