Indianapolis, IN.
I unloaded this morning in Fort Wayne at a scrap metal recycler. It seems all the trucks for the day had the same delivery time of 0700, and I was about 10th in line. So it was a long unload.
Got a double pplan that was supposed to pick up a couple hours away by 1030, and eventually get me to MN for home time.
That didn't happen.
Got another pplan later that morning that couldn't happen either.
It seems that they can not send a plan that I can get to on time, nor deliver within my hours.
So I wait several hours more, thinking they are mad at me for turning down all those 'sweet' plans.
Get a plan that is pre-loaded, but it has no delivery times - and I will still be late picking it up by ~1.5 hours because of when they sent it to me.
I grab it, hoping that the delivery times on this 2-stopper will match up with my hours, because it is also a load getting me to home time.
So I get the load, but only have less than 20 minutes left on my 14 - so no time to find a truck stiop.
I'm taking my 10 in a strip mall close to the shipper.
Maybe I'm dense, or I simply don't know how things work.
And please, correct me if I'm wrong.
It seems to me that a load with a pick up time beginning at 1430 could be sent to me prior to that by at least an hour.
But it seems that I am always sent a pplan just minutes before I need to be rolling to make it on time, or I am already late by an hour.
I personally think that the Plus-1 system was put into place just to increase driver stress.
Good night from...

Gig Harbor, WA... Last night at home before getting back in the saddle. Maybe I should see about going north for the summer.

Petro shop in Amarillo, TX getting my ac fixed. On my dime. Onroad said I would have to take it to a terminal after I drop this load on Friday. They can kiss my terminal. I'm not driving through TX, NM, AZ, NV and the Mojave desert in the middle of July without ac.
Frankaiwiron Thanks this. -
Peru, IL.
Finally got the appt time for this load, and it's not until 07/19 at 0600.
So I've had a lot of time to kill. -
Got 2 hours west of Amarillo and the high pressure side hose blew off the ac after I had it fixed "good as new" last night. I guess I will be driving through all those hot places wo ac...

At home for the night. Have an unload appointment @ 8:00am tomorrow morning.
Then at least 4 days hometime before I head out again. -

Made it home yesterday even though I ran very close to empty on the 70. I could see that I was going to be about 45 minutes over on 70 or otherwise wait til midnight to continue on to delivery which would be approximately 12 hours late by then so sent a bunch of messages asking to t-call in Willows (delivery in Tracy CA).
Everything worked out great, other driver was already waiting when I got to Willows, he hooked and split and still had enough time to get to the place at least an hour before delivery time. Love it when a plan comes together.
Currently outside Petsmart for Abby, she had been bitten on her ear last week plus she was due for some shots. They shaved her little ear lol and put some ointment on it, but looks like it will be OK. -
At a Motel 6 in Hesperia, CA five miles from my delivery in the morning. This will be one of my SoCal go to places in the future instead of truck stops. Price is reasonable and there are places to eat other than Denny's all around here as well as a neighboring Shell station claiming to be a truck stop with no truck parking but really good coffee and really cold Budweiser. It feels kind of weird since there's enough room in this room to park my truck so after I took a shower, I did a naked happy dance on the second bed which caused the mirror to crack but, what da' hey?
