Nah .. California transplants are thrilled to have made thier escape ... It's why I'm such pleasure to deal with when I'm OTR.

Wildwood, GA, small butt Peelot. Sent a pplan today and just had to refuse. Go 50 mt, and in the comments section, said that if directed to another location or if told no fr8 there, then wait and contact CSR before leaving, and then on the delivery, if sent to another location upon arrival, not to go until cleared by CSR. The load was a JIT load, all of 250 miles. All that it is doing, chewing up my hours and no $$. Also sent in reason, load not cost effective, just chewing up hours, not staying in the SEast.

Denver, CO.
Unloaded this morning, went to the terminal to fill the DEF tank, then headed for TA.
Got a pplan, short miles into WY with 1 additional stop. A K-Mart load. No early pick up or deliveries.
Picks up by 0200 with final at 1300 tomorrow.
The pplan said to pick up at 2100 tonight, but I called my DM because the pu and del were exactly 14 hours apart. He told me that it had a pu window up until 0200, so that works much better. At least I'll be able to get a little sleep.
Fun. -
Finished in Douglas, GA this morning, and pushed my PTA out until morning. Was getting nothing but pplans that where at least 100 mt miles and 185 ldd and staying in the SE. Loads in Albany going to Atlanta and SC. MAC 30 later, and got one for Albany going to Houston for Wednesday. Now just need to get ahead of Issac tomorrow and stay ahead of him or it could be a very long ride. Have until 2000 Wednesday to get there.

Well, at least you are heading away from it.

Im not a fan of planners in the Windy city area...

I refused a couple of loads yesterday too and caught a lot of flak for it. The comments on the loads were in a word, 'rude', suggesting that drivers 'speeding' over 5 miles per hour at the shipper would be given service failures. The other side of the coin, consignee comments were very matter of factly stated that if the driver screwed up any step in the lumper procedure that the driver would be soley responsible for paying the lumper.
The next thing I didn't like about these loads was that they have destinations down in hurricane country-- plus I was already into about 22 hours off so just decided to chill the rest of Sunday and wait for something better Monday morning. But my phone was blowing up and the guy was very upset that I had 19 hour available and was sitting empty. Funny he started the conversation that the load was 'very sweet' and going to a 'hot freight lane', then he got really mad that I wouldn't take either one of them. Oh yeah 24% deadhead, no thanks #3.
Got a little 600 mile run now down to Chattanooga, shooting for California next....
Why don't you like Windy City Mica? That's my favorite launching point, always try to get there coming off hometimes..
This guy let his monkey jump on my shoulders for a minute, very cute.Attached Files:
