WY, I80 x30, at the TA.

    What a fun day.
I had a delivery scheduled at 1000 this morning, and I stopped up the hill about 80 miles away because I hate Salt Lake City.
I get a message this morning that I can deliver at 0900, but that is not how I scheduled my time. So I got there at 0930.
    No biggie, in any case.

While unloading I get a pplan that picks up at 1700 nearby, and delivers by 1330 tomorrow in Billings MT.
The planner sent along a note saying that the shipper would try to have the load done earlier, since they knew the time was very short.
    I accept the plan.
I get to the shipper 1.5 hours early, only to be told that my load was picked up by a local driver earlier - headed for the terminal.
So, I head for the terminal.

On the way there I get another pplan on my phone, but nothing on the Qcom.

Get to the terminal, go inside and ask about my load, and I'm told that it was voided.
He said to come on in and talk to the planner.
He's not sure why I was voided off the load, but would I like a run to Littleton CO.

OK, says me, and he dispatches me on that load.

I get back to my truck, but no messages on the Qcom.
And the message I sent to my DM explaining the situation, just before I left the last shipper, was still in the que to be sent.
So I call my DM and get the needed info to pick up this load - and then reboot the Qcom.

By the time I got to Costco to pick up the load I had all my messages.
Includng the void call for the last load - which wasn't sent until after I was already at the last shipper.

And this load doesn't deliver until 2130 tomorrow, so I have a bit of time to kill.
And, it's a live unload. So now I will have to try to find parking in that area at near midnight.
I wish it had been a drop, so at least I would only be bobtail.

That's 2 loads this week that have been screwed up and lost, costing me a lot of time.

Weatherford, TX. Sent me a pplan while in Houston, PU there and going to Memphis right back into the storm. Declined it so they had me t-call in Lancaster. Then sent a pplan, shag a trailer from the yard 50 miles away and sit, then another pplan, dh 80 miles to LL at 0001 and del 271 miles away at 1630 Sat and then sit, Galveston. Nope. Finally a pplan that I am going to have to push. Real tight time. Garland to Phx, target. YeeHaw. Get to go through the safety lanes for inspection before deliver, and another HazMat. My 3rd in 2 weeks.

OK it's been a few days since I last reported, let's see, got in trouble for turning down a 'hot' load in Ohio going to hurricane country.

Delivered another load to a place that didn't have any empty trailers available that day (but said come back the next day) so bobtailed just 6 miles away and did a ten. Got a couple of preplans involving hundred mile deadheads and turned them down and went back and got my empty the next day, which a preplan had come thru picking up at the 6 miles away place fortunately, but when I started my pretrip to go over there another preplan came thru so I sent a message asking about my load, "oh that was voided some time ago", gee thanks for the head's up.

Meanwhile I'm trying to get home from Memphis (Lathrop) and no preplans are coming thru coming into a 4 day weekend where I'm sure shippers/receivers are closed. Turned down loads going east, then they send messages that's all that is available lol.

Got a message to avoid going south on I55 out of Memphis into Louisiana to I12/I10. Got a new preplan going to Pasadena TX which I accepted without looking at the map because I thought it was Dallas area lol, Swift route says go down I55, I12, I10 lol don't they read their own emergency messages?? I routed down I40,I30, 59s and got a whopping 5.8 miles per gallon. Got a shorty from here in Houston to Dallas for tomorrow, I guess I will be bobtailing home from Dallas again.

In other news, over the summer I was mulling the option of selling my truck due to the IRS going back and assessing massive taxes from previous years. I'm trying to work out a deal with them, if it works out I think I will be hiring a driver for my truck and leasing a new truck and becoming a mentor.
