Truck is starting to smell better after Abby's skunk encounter or I'm just getting used to it lol. Was going to take a 34 to clean up the mess but a nice load from Troutdale to Florida popped up so I accepted it. Have enough hours coming off recap to go about 3000 miles, google shows the load at 2900 and Swift is offering 2800 miles paid. Should be a little challenge and I will be a tired pup when it is done lol. Had to stretch out my delivery time tomorrow in order to comfortably encompass the live load in the 14 hour clock.

Gotta love days where you start your 14 searching for an empty for a 195loaded 65mt (235 actual and 76 actual) live loads on both ends too... Whole day, 14 hrs, 16 if you count the two waiting for the planner to give you a trailer solution, for not a whole lots miles. Going to Jim Bean south of Louiville.

Back here at Thortons on I-55. Just noticed for the first time that they have a Steak and Shake. First time to ever try one. Was supposed to get a little farthers, but alas, delay at shipper, 14 clicking down, and had all of 3 left when pulled out. Had over 5 when pulled in, and then held up in the construction plus the start of rush hour. Oh well. Guess that I get to push it again to deliver at 0800 in Flowermound on Fri. These winds today are killing me. Hitting me right on the corner from a angle. Right now, 6.6 mpg. Hope that this wind dies come morning or it is going to be a very long drive.

This was a very short run from the Morris Costco.
Headed back down there tomorrow afternoon for a load to MN for my home time.

They tried to give me a load that picked up at 1500 and delivered ~500 miles away at 0600 the next morning.
Since I would require a 10 in that time I declined it with a delivery time of 1230.
It was taken off me, and within 5 minutes I had another load that picked up at the same place and time but delivered at 1500.
Different city, but both in MN.

I simply don't understand why they send pplans that clearly are not possible for a solo driver.
And the fact that I had such a quick response with a backup makes me wonder if they were not simply messing with me.

At the TA in Morris, IL (right across the street from the Costco DC) taking a 34.

I unloaded in Elwood @ 3:00 pm with only 11 hrs left on my 70 and nothing coming off for the next 2 days. So rather than run tomorrow and have no hours for Friday I decided a 34 was in order.

This is the first 34 I've ever taken away from home since switching from flatbed to van. When I ran flatbed I took one every 5-6 days.

They tried to send me a pplan yesterday, actually two, 1st of dh 60 miles to Costco and take 170 miles to IA, then grab another one in IA and take to Casa Grande for Monday. would have been gr8, except home time in Ohio on Monday. They are not looking or again starting to throw loads out there is see if will bite. Talked to my DM this morning, and let him know that not playing the game anymore and what my plans are. Figure at 50mph and 12 hour breaks.
