I waited til something GOOD was offered this morning and grabbed it. Port Allen (different shipper) to California! Doesn't load til late tomorrow morning, delivers Friday morning in NorCal. Gonna see if I can t-call it to myself in El Paso so I don't have a negative week. Biggest challenge I see is getting a load back to either SoCal or Phoenix Friday to start hometime. If need be I'll drop my MT in Lathrop and bobtail to Fontana. Gonna spend 4 days on the beach in San Diego with the family.

That Exxon-Mobil is real hit and miss. Been there 3 times. Two times went smooth as silk, drop, hook and outa there. Third time I did a 34 there waiting for them to get my load ready. Gives me the heebee geebees seeing it pop up on the qualcom now.
-
I'll never tell ... LOL. Never any trouble here in the past ... Can't say exactly the saem about Port Allen though .. first time there they had sent my trailer out the night before on another BOL, second time went smooth ... third time P/U was smooth, but second day out load went all hazmat on me and spewing motor oil.
3 hrs out from my receiver .. no loads offered. -
Oops ... never mind, just got a load ... will be headn' up to Chicago area for a Wednesday drop.

have two classes to take in lathrop tomorrow morning then hoping to tcall this load here. they wouldnt let me today but ill hopefully get it taken care of tomorrow. one of those cant deliver early or its a service failure ones. anyways they want me to run a load to stockton for them tomrrow after my training and im thinking im not down with that

Do it, but make sure hey pay by the hr.. And keep track. And keep on top of your DM.
Sunnyside, WA for the night. -
Most of the time I too have had no issues with the "mystery shipper". I did have one bad day where I spent a bit over 8 hours there because of a load that was over on the drives. Their attitude that preloaded trailers "are the driver's problem" if found to be overweight is BS. I arrived at 10:30 am and they wouldn't rework me until after 3:30 pm. I did eventually get my detention pay, but only because my DM went to bat for me.
The lesson I learned was not to sign for the load UNTIL I SEE THE SCALE TICKET! Rather than repeat my earlier fiasco I'll spot the offending trailer back in the yard, retrieve my MT AND LEAVE. Only after I'm off their property WITH MY MT will I stop and message Swift as to what happened. -
Yeah they tried to get me to sign before they reworked the load. Told them nay, nay ... Mystic don't work that way.
Currently waiting for my preload to be ready, then have 2 hrs left on my 70 that I can use ... looks like I'll make it Eufala, OK tonite. -
I had emptied out in the far reaches of Montana, a load offer came in to deadhead hundreds of miles to Billings to pick up a tcall and take to New Jersey. I was short of making it to the tcall location by 120 miles when I ran out of time due to the long unloading which they had to bring a crew in from one of the oil fields to unload the trailer and also had to rent a skytrack forklift.
It was a fortunate thing to run out of time where I was rather than the dirt lot drop yard because it turned into about 20 hours waiting for the other driver coming in from Lewiston ID. I kept messaging Swift about his location, when I figured he was about 2 hours out, I left my location and we got there at the same time, dropped and swapped. (Where is Shilling or Schilling Montana? For that matter I cannot find a city by those names anywhere in the United States or Canada)
I'm racing to get this load done by Wednesday, will represent about 3400 miles on the week. Broke off 740 miles yesterday, won't do quite so many today though.
Chillin at Iowa 80fr8monkey Thanks this.
