    Days like that really suck.
I'm trying to get back home to Cali. Did a couple of 250 mile 'favor' runs Texas intrastate figuring that will make me look good to the planners who will award me with a straight run west toward home. Well I tcalled in Lancaster last night, they wanted me to run down to Houston. Nope, hometime-- they got the message and started hooking me up with stacked runs but always heading east then west like Arkansas, and Louisiana. Had to turn those down as I only have 49 hours til 'must be home' time and the distances were about 2500 - 2600 miles out from home with live loads and unloads etc. So I got the big guilt trip from the DM which I did not appreciate. I sent her a message that the preplan says 'no pets' and I have a dog on board which is listed right on the front page of my screen not the next page no one looks at. She answered back that it was going to be tough but she would try to message the planners again. I was thinking what does that mean, had she already given up on helping me if I hadn't sent her the 'pet' message? What is 'tough' about it?

Anyway so the rest of the day the preplans were all about getting me home a day late which my baby mama was having a fit about. So I'm giving Swift a few more hours which will coincide with my 34 hour break (just about my 'drop dead' must leave no later than to get back on time) to get me a good load I can do going west, otherwise looks like for the 4th time in a little over a year I will be bobtailing from Texas back to Lathrop.

Forgot to mention, last load offer of the day was deadhead from Lancaster up to OK City terminal and take a 1 mile loaded Live Unload. Load would pay approximately $200 but I need $200 in fuel to get up there. NO backup plan was offered, infact DM said that planner sent that plan and immediately went home for the day.

Good for you doing it yourself for exactly the reason you mentioned. I hope you logged off duty and flagged it as a break.

dropped my load at lowes dc in mt vernon today. sent mac 38 for the broken mudflaps. then drove over to loves down the highway. got load to pick up a load of pallets from walmart dc in palestine tx going to balch springs tx. 213 mile trip. picks up at noon tomorrow, so i fueled up today and will drive and deliver tomorrow. had 2 other short runs but couldn't do it due to the times they gave. i should say i sent mac 9 with the times i could do them and they were taken off me.

Still at home. Was supposed to head out in the morning, but the wife's boss changed her schedule. We had an agreement, her days off are during the week, and not the weekend. She makes more money on the weekend, so since we have not been together since the first of the year, pushed out my PTA until Monday. So much for the truck payment. Hope that there are some miles. If my DM actually does his job(yes, sinical) then I know that I can actually make the truck payment. I know that there is fr8 in this area, just getting Memphis do to their job. And can someone tell me, Columbus has planners, so why do we have to get a pplan from Memphis.

Memphis ECT covers east of the Mississippi, Phoenix ECT out west ... but I think the system generated plans - read Plus 1 - come through the ECT planners regardless of time.

I'm still doing the shuttle so I am in Lancaster area. Spoke with an old friend that some of the newer guys won't know but may have read some of his posts, Frank! He is alive and well and really doing well as a Lease operator. I think his handle on here was something like AC21, but he always signed His name to the post. Uh, yeah, he is still a Swiftie!

Yes I was wondering what happened to the fellow. I have been waiting around the Lancaster terminal late Tuesday night (Friday morning now) for a load going west. They finally got me something going towards Phoenix about 1000 miles. That's close enough to home for me just 750 more bobtailing back doesn't hurt the paycheck as much.

I had signed up in Lancaster for the empty trailer list. The way they explained it, they would message me when they were ready for me to hook up to one in the yard there. Cool so I was in and out of the terminal visiting Loves and T/A, anyway got some fuel last night about 11 hours before I expected to get a trailer at the terminal down the street, this am they sent a message that I now have to go into Dallas rush hour to get an empty which screws up my 10 hour break I was planning on. I knew I should have waited to get fuel closer to the time but the gauge was way in the red from 2.5 days of waiting around.
