Well, I came home on fumes. Every day I go out and fire up the truck for about 20 minutes to keep the batteries charged up, check messages and approve logs. PTA is set for tomorrow night (Tuesday) which usually means Wednesday morning before a load is offered. So the truck needs fuel for sure, I figured to grab 50 gallons and do a 34 to max out my clocks. My paycheck is already going to be negative next week anyway, just figured to get the fuel now and keep my clocks maxed out.

They always turned mine off because i take a long time off,it is a security measure...and so u dont buy fuel for anyone else or max out fuel and run for the border,lol....Its just part of the process of restarting the old ship up again to go work....get pplan...ask for fuel card to be turned on....

At the Love's in Wichita Falls, TX on my way to Borger, TX with a load of steel drums. Already grabbed a backhaul out of Borger headed back to La Porte, TX (SE Houston) which delivers Thursday morning.

After that I'm going home if I have to bobtail!

Got into it BAD with Rapid Response this morning. I did my DOT inspection on Friday and had the TA fax the report to RR (like I always do). RR messages me 20 mins later saying that they could not read the fax and could I please resend it. OK, no problem, I do so while stopped at the Columbus terminal.

So this morning I call RR to make sure that they got it. The person I spoke was less than helpful and downright rude! After she interupted me for the 3rd or 4th time I told her to "shut up" and listen to me. As you can imagine that didn't go over very well at all! :)

I faxed it a 3rd time, then messaged my DM and asked him to run interference for me, which he did.

I'm still trying to figure out what RR is there for. Seems like their standard answer is "we cannot help you", either that or a phone message stating that they are all in a meeting. REALLY!

    More Swift Crackheads!!

Not quite as practical as that ... DM have a bogie for each truck on their board ... turning off the fuel card takes you off the board so you don't bring the averages down since you are not running any miles ... just call your DM and they can turn your card on for you ... on a side note though, why use your card at all, just splash 20 gallons and don't start your clocks. ... On my way to Tacoma for 2 drop Wednesday AM .. be at the terminal or the little truck stop up the road tomorrow afternoon.

Interesting. As far as I know, I have never had mine turned off, or if it was, then when get a pplan, they just turn it back on without me knowing it. Scottie, if you are at home, why would you want to use your fuel card before you get a pplan. That would have to be logged and then you are going to have a day that you will be showing all of 15 mins. Yes, if you go back home and still have another 34 then okay.

Ahhhhh...ok...so it'sjust that i am a little pawn in the dms endgame to look good?....I would prefer (in my mind, hehe) to think that its because swift know what a "Rebel" I am and that it is "dangerous" to leave fuel card turned on when i am off work....cause you never know what I might do with it......:biggrin_25525:

Yes will still be able to get a 34 before picking up next load. I figured it was a security thing as I had taken a load out of Dallas to Casa Grande AZ on 031613 then bobtailed 750 miles to home from there. So evidently when the PTA was set for this AM the system was confused as I was supposed to be in Casa Grande but got fuel in Lodi CA on 032513. My DM msg'd me and asked if I had told anyone I was leaving Casa Grande to go to Stockton CA. Why yes, refer to Macro 8 submitted 030213 lol.

Anyway I got an overnight load to Los Angeles, been trying to sleep on and off all day to prepare for it but no luck so far. Unusual destination, a competitor's trucking terminal. Had another one like that recently, cross dock at a Dependable Highway Express terminal.
