Have to ask, what is the best way to give Swift notice that you are quitting?

Call your D.M. and let him know.
Be prepared to take truck to terminal
Clean out truck and take pictures.

No point in burning bridges .

I talked to my DM yesterday, told him I was cleening out the truck and would turn it in this morning to the drop yard in vegas. Recieved a call a little later from someone else in the terminal asking my reasons for leaving. I told him I had a better offer that was too good to pass up right now. Also told him I was still cleaning out the truck and would turn it into the drop yard this morning. They were OK with that and said I was leaving on good standing and was welcome back if the other job didn't work out. I do have to thank Swift, they have been a good company for me so far, just wish they payed a little more.

That's really great news they are allowing you to drop the truck at that yard in your hometown.

Some good news for me, I got my 1/2 penny per mile raise for being with Swift for 3 years yay.

Not quite in the heart of Texas, I'd say the throat-- headed to Topeka for tomorrow.

    Raca Thanks this.

Somewhere in NM, NE of El Paso, headed for Romeoville, IL.

Lots of time on this load; it doesn't deliver until the 5th.
That's good, though. I have 12 hours left on my 70, and nothing coming back in for the next 2 days with 1300 miles to go.
    So I stopped here for a 34.
A nice little truck stop with a good restaurant and friendly staff.

I had hoped to get to the Love's at I-40/US 54 so I could scan in some trips (I'm a bit behind), but I would have run out of time by about 15 minutes.
    Oh well.

Here in Morris, IL. I am now on the Costco fleet. I really hope that I did not make a mistake. Due to a load cancelling on me yesterday, I lost a 900 mile weekend pplan. To make up for that, I am given what was left I think, a 310 mile load and now sit. Came with the expectations that I would not sit on the weekend. So far this week, team, ldd miles from Friday until now 570 miles, and was told that fr8 will not be comming out until Sunday.

Sounds good. Same here, but I have a family reunion to attend instead of a vacation.

Finally got a load out and with a re-load. Called in to question the re-load and was told that they try and send us to an area that is close for a reload back. Wet load and the reload was mt miles 164 to del in Bolingbrook, IL, 271 miles. Somehow that does not seem to fit in what I would call the area that I am delivering. I am not sure if I misunderstood what this account was about, or it is just weekend dispatch.

Do you not get paid loaded miles for all miles, empty or loaded?

Nope, if it is to pick up a back haul, I get the mt mile rate, .81. I was informed that reefer loads are out and back, and the dry division, they would get the back hauls. If I was delivering a dry load, then I can expect a possible back haul if there is not a return at the store. Either I misunderstoor, or I am dealing with weekend ECT. I know that I am the new kid on the block here, at least at this account.
