Itasca, IL sitting in a Sam's lot.
I waited up all night last night for a load, since I slept until around 2000.
Nothing until I'm ready to go to sleep at around 0600.
I turned down 2 pplans with the reason that I was just getting to sleep after being up all night.
Then a 3rd comes in, picking up at 0800 and delivering tomorrow morning in IL.
I just ignored it instead of turning it down, and went to sleep.
I'm glad I did. On both counts.
I woke up a few hours later to an 'important' message that was only a "!"
I looked at the plan more carefully and noticed it was pre-loaded, so I adjusted the pick up time. It was kicked back to me so I got a load out.
I hadn't considered it at first because I didn't know how long I would be asleep. But I woke up in fairly good condition and realized that I actually could do that load with no problem.
And now I need to Mac22 it to deliver a couple hours later so I have enough hours to complete my next load tomorrow night.
No problem, though, as it has a delivery window that covers it.
Good night from...

pilot imn castaic was full and t/s across the street charges, so i drove down to rye cyn off ramp and now parked in the dirt on side of road. don't think i'll have any problems here. another truck is parked in front of me and a couple chp and sheriff drove by without stopping. imm about 3 miles from final. i lived in this area for 25-29 yrs and haven't heard the street name before,so not going to chance it going over there with no parking.

I think they tend to leave truckers alone, they know we need to sleep and need a place to park and in some areas you just cant find anything.
I shut down in Barstow, got stuck in another accident where traffic was backed up on the 40 coming in. I could easily make it on into Fontana or Mira Loma which is where im heading but I remember the last time I went to the terminals on a Sunday night having hell finding a place to park, TA has been filling up quick but I got here around 6:00 or so. I have to call my DL early in the morning and have him get paperwork for this load since whoever left it was stupid and didnt leave any and then see if I can bring it in for a t-call and get another load, this load is scheduled the 26th and im not going to sit on it for that many days.
I want to haul butt and get a couple more loads in for sure before I go on home time, im debating on taking a couple extra days off so I can spend time with my girls and also be there for my daughters first 4th of July. As long as I can get a couple more loads in I should be fine on bills to take the 30th off to the 4th and hopefully get back into a truck on the 5th and then just stay out for a month to get back ahead. I will have to think about it and also hope Mr Zimmer guy at Mira Loma isnt going to take a 4 day weekend so I cant get a truck. -

Here at some small Loves just south of OKC. For some reason, and I do not know why, accepted a pplan that had me wait 5 hours from mt to reload. That was a mistake, and I should know better. MAC showed one from the yard in Edwardsville, 450 mile to Hopkins, MN for Wednesday morning, pass, 45K, plus trying to find something that I pu tomorrow that has some miles that I can drop on Wednesday. Try and finish the week with 2200 miles.

Back to work after a week of hometime. Last Monday morning, I was southbound on I5, my wife was northbound, we were on the phone as we passed each other going the other way lol. Almost happened again this morning, I spent the night at Lodi Flying J but I had to leave a tad bit earlier otherwise we could have both been going northbound neck and neck as my pickup was in Sac and she works in downtown Sac.
PTA was set for Friday but some stuff came up and needed to stay home all weekend. Set PTA out but it didn't take, got a preplan to deadhead about 350 miles out for mt miles pay due to no freight. I turned it down stating I was still on hometime. Got my PTA set right and next preplan came in 35 miles mt, 1900 loaded hmm, thought there was no freight....Load delivers on Thursday, so no miles to turn in from hometime, and payday will be a negative number. Shooting for a big 4500 mile paycheck next week though....
Edit, I was wondering if any of you guys have the Elog update showing the 30 minute timer and VIR button and such yet?Last edited: Jun 24, 2013

dp what time did you go over the grapevine? I went over it too a couple hours ago
I got my load t-called I had, the planners made me accept a load before they would do it, got a load that is going to the Walmart DC in Porterville which is stop 1 at 19:00 tomorrow, then I go to Sams club in Ontario that delivers 00:01 so hopefully traffic and stuff is on my side since that one will be close depending how quick they are at the Walmart
Sitting down the road in Ducor right now at a truck stop off the 65
