Calling for 108 degrees or more in Madera tomorrow! Going to be a hot one for sure....
-
yeah then the company would probably find a way to fire me or just limit my miles and stuff...
so they kept sending me pre plans trying to keep me running as a shuttle boy tcalling loads back to Lathrop, I turned down all of them, they then send a load and I was called up saying to accept it, little over 300 miles from Lathrop to LA area, it doesnt even deliver until Monday, i told the guy I was scheduled for hometime starting Sunday and he told me too bad I cant tcall it and I have to keep the load, I go ahead and drive half and then call up the DM on duty in Fontana and ask about a tcall, he also said they werent allowed to take any more tcalls right now and that im stuck with it, I told him this is bullcrap im sitting on a load for over 2 days that is going to make me like $80 AND I cant get home for the day I requested 2 weeks ago, his reply "well I cant fix that but you can always do some local runs while waiting to drop that load" seriously im getting a bit pissed off this week. Even looking at some other companies, I bust my butt helping these planners and then they screw me even more in the end.
Anyway drove out of route about 60 miles to get to the Mira Loma terminal, not a single parking spot, people were even parked in areas where it made it almost impossible to turn, left and went to Fontana, parked on the street, like 10 spots in the terminal being used by stupid bobtails hogging a whole spot.
So goodnight from Fontana -
Here in Cloverdale, IN. I was going to try and get closer, but with 19 miles to go and 28 mins left, did not want to chance it.

still sitting in Fontana, didnt sleep too well since it was warm and I sweated all night, woke up late and decided screw the planners im not helping with extra loads today, decided to chill in the lounge with my laptop and just take it easy and relax, bills are paid for July so im not too worried, will hope to have a good July and plenty of miles.
Anyone's fuel gauge ever fluctuate by a lot? Went to sleep with the needle just above a quarter of a tank, started it up this morning and its on the red and giving low fuel warning.
I will call tonight and get fuel opened up for me to get at least 25 gallons to do my drop then head back to mira loma and turn in the truck. -
I know so-cal doesn't a crime problem, but, maybe somebody helped their self to your gas! That is a huge flux..

sitting at pilot off 99 in madera. 10 miles from final and delivers at 1000. while doing pretrip this morning noticed right turn signal not working. so drove to lathrop terminal to get it fixed. also hit a big bump going over sacramento bridge and saw the abs light on.trailer guy said the abs sensor on trailer popped off so i guess that bump jarred it loose. he said trailer light were good, to go check with truckshop to have them check fuses. shopdesk said it wont be till morning b4 he gets to it. said they're 2 days behing. i said i couldn't wait. saw the trailer guy just finishing up the trailer and told him what happened. so he jump in the truck and put a new fuse in and now everything is good

never know, I am parked on the street on Banana right next to the swift terminal, was no parking inside and Mira Loma was full too. I have seen a few sketchy people who pull up in cars, get out and chat, smoke, drink stuff then throw their trash down and take off, seen a few sets of people do this today, guess the grass next to the terminal is the hangout place?

Wolfy, I recommend Ontario TA, much more secure there plus showers and food, tv etc. I know it costs money to stay there, but a little trick for company drivers would be to buy a gallon of oil for $18 bucks, a cup of coffee you're going to buy anyway or food, scan the oil receipt in and you will be paid back, so free parking.
Made it to Calgary. Sent in arrival at final, nobody home. I will go ahead and do the U.S and Canada 34 and 36 hours reset respectively. Hoping to get a reload right away Tuesday morning for Spokane then turn and burn right back for Calgary delivery for Thursday the 4th of July and reload for going back south as Canada doesn't celebrate the 4th for some reason. Otherwise will probably get stuck for a slow week back in the states because most customers will be taking 4 days off.
Saw a big moose high steppin in Saskatchewan and a deer ran across in front of my truck, caught it on video, will be uploading soon.Last edited: Jun 30, 2013
inkeper Thanks this. -
Not uncommon ... generally it will come back up =once you get down the road ... it's more noticeable when the gauge is in that 1/4 tank or less range.
The trick for all drivers - unless they added one lately - there is no actual gate, just the guard shack. I just write paid per T/A manager on the ticket, hand it to them, say thank and drive out. Or just wave a handful of receipts say thanks and drive out.
Spent 6 hours in Phoenix. Behind on my schedule, was planning to be somewhere north of Bakersfield. Instead I'm in Morango ... drop tomorrow, take a day or two off then run until Labor Day.scottied67 Thanks this.
