how long does it take for a log violation to show up? I looked at the portal and it shows no violations so im guessing I was good on the other one since it was on duty while beeping at me, how many minutes into the drive line will it take to violate right away or minutes...?

Wolfy, like I said my swap guy goes a half mile, slowly, stops, and comes back without ever leaving off duty. I have driven around a big wal mart dc, low and slow stopping every once in a while looking for MTs and never went to the drive line.
If you get a drive line violation, safely stop, and while still on the drive line, put the reason why you are in violation in the remarks. After you get parked call your safety person and tell them what is up, if it's cool with them they will flag it and you probably won't get a violation. Be sure you have a valid reason, looking for a safe haven or unexpected delay due to accident while enroute to safe haven or customer. Being in violation for a few minutes is usually OK, for an hour isn't. -
ok the worst I have done is a few minutes when trying to find a place to safely shut down, will try to be more careful and change status for now on to keep myself safe but sometimes I just cant stop to change it. I normally dont get myself so close to worry but lately they have been giving me loads that are tight on time. Its normally too tight or way too much time on them, I think they suck at organizing the windows sometimes.

wolfy...long as you'e not on the driveline after 14 hours are up, no violation. if you are moving the truck slowly, qc will stay on offduty line. though qc will still tell you are in violation.

wolfy... if you are close on your hours, when you get off the freeway and get to stop light, put yourself on duty. don't drive to fast and get to your stop. i don't know how far you can drive like that before it will change cause i normally do it and only go to truckstop.manually change your status to on duty or off duty rite when you stop but let the qc change to driveline. will save time like innkeeper said

TA East in Denver.
Delivered in Colorado Springs this morning then stopped in Monument so my daughter could visit a bit with the great grandparents.
Then we headed to Denver terminal for a 90 day bit inspection and to get my oil filter tightened.
No pplan yet. -
Salt Lake is also 126 loads short. Delivery schedule for midnight tonight through the next midnight. Waiting to see if I get a preplan to pick up in the morning, then just wait to deliver so I can do both drop and reload in the same 14 window and make miles toward home.
Oh and the elk were playing chicken just west of Yellowstone National Park this AM.

1st stop opened and unloaded 10 pallets in 15 minutes. got to 2nd stop and its a storage unit on a small side street. dude said others had got it there. theres a 5 foot ditch on right side that messed me up. after 5 tries told him no way. there was no place to turn rig around, so i backed 3/4 mile back to intersection, turned around and backed it back in. took about 30 minute for him to unload with him in the back with pallet jack and a forklift driver taking it off the back. what an adventure
