Sometimes you have to wait for the good stuff.
So, did you get an elephant? -
I delivered right on time, and got a pplan just before unloading was complete.
A perfect load going right where I needed to go for home time to get my daughter back on time for school.
Sacramento CA seems to be the hardest place to get to. It's always a juggling act, it seems.
This load is a whole 2500 pounds of pillows going to a Target DC about 30 miles from where Luana is living.
Sure was nice having her company for the past month.
And it sure will be nice to have the truck all to myself again.
Such mixed feelings.
And next summer I get to have my next youngest daughter join me, since she'll be 12 by then.
We both can't wait.inkeper, scottied67 and dptrucker Thank this. -
glad to hear that moosetek13

lol that would be cool but those things are expensive to keep, I went and hung out with the boss and the DL who wanted me to help again, had a beer and he grilled up some stuff, the boss said the circus spends $40k to buy an elephant and they eat a lot, they get 60-80 lbs of fruit nightly plus their hay and stuff, seeing this whole operation and the work these guys have to go through I now understand why tickets are so expensive. Its non stop work for these guys, even as I sat there they were moving trailers back and forth and unloading, setting up ect, while i was asleep for a few hours they even set a fence around the whole perimeter.
Its been a fun experience, I guess tomorrow will be a little more hectic, the DL said he went to the rail yard to check it out and its a 15 mile each way trip with police escorts through the San Diego. He said at the yard we will all have to do a very tight uturn and be careful of dips and stuff and we will have to spot each other out of there. He said this trip will probably take a hour each way. As long as I have enough time to get to otay mesa for an empty, run down to redlands for my load and then get to shafter and have enough time to bobtail to tehachapi then im cool. Going to be a tight schedule but we will see how I pull it off. I wish I could drive off the clock in a company truck like o/o's can.
On sitting time sometimes you do and sometimes you dont, been times where I go to a slow freight area and get out right away and sometimes I go back and sit, out of several months I have only sat a couple times though.scottied67 Thanks this. -
sounds like you had a great weekend wolfyinc.......ohhhh so it depends on the freight area if you going to be sitting or not

Came down the hill and stopped in Lodi Flying Suck and met the ole lady as she was going to work in Sac. Then jammed down to Lathrop and dropped loaded trailer on yard so I could go take care of some business in town. Dropped off Abby at the PetSmart for all her shots, got my mail, bought a part at KW for $120 bucks and some nuts and bolts at Lowes as well as an electric impact wrench to do the job all in about $220 bucks to do this job a KW shop had quoted me over $900 just in parts, not including labor. When the job is done I will explain in more detail.
Deliver in the morning then off for a week.
