can't wait to see what they say about my logs
. almost always off duty when i do the mac 10 and when i accept/reject a preplan
-
sitting at fontana terminal. gonna take shower and do laundry then head over to mira loma and spend nite there. my personal vehicle is parked there.
-
A couple of things ... you can be off duty to do a preplan or a mac 30 ... second you only have to be on duty for the period of time doing your mac 10/32 takes .... go on duty do them, then go back off duty ... it it's less than 5 minutes it will not count against your off duty/sleeper time ... but if they do an audit on you, they will see you were on duty when you performed the activity and leave you alone.
And I agree the whole #### thing is childish ... we didn't have this level of scrutiny under paper and going to this level isn't going to make us any safer ... it just makes the job a pain in the butt.SteveH85396 and Moosetek13 Thank this. -
talked to someone at the shop my truck was at and he mentioned that d.o.t. is having another inspection blitz starting sept. 9. anyone here know if thats true?
-
September is the brake blitz ...

Sounds like they are getting real anal again on the logs. I have been doing MAC 32 off duty for so long, and never a problem, and I have been audited within the last 6 months.
Here at the Peelot, Remington, IN. Ashley load to NC. Was sent the pplan, pu 3 hours prior to my PTA, declined with new pu time, sent it back to me, and then removed. Then 2.5 hours they sent me the same load again. First time was pu at 0500 and del at 0400 on Monday. Then it was pu at 1130 and del at 0600 on the 2nd. Umm, they change my pu time by 6.5 hours, but only change my del by 2 hours. PLUS 1 sucks. Actuall del is no later than 1800 on the 3rd. -
I can still remember them sweet talking us on the Elogs. "Oh you're going to love it, it will give you all kinds of extra time!"
These new rules are exactly what we were all leery of. I knew once Elogs had infiltrated the fleet like some insidious disease they would start tightening down the rules for using it. I can remember bobtailing off duty driving 3 times out of Texas to California, once out of Arizona to Cali and a couple times up from Los Angeles to Lathrop as well. Nobody said nothing. Now I bobtail 7 miles off duty driving and get busted, go figure.
Overslept this AM, no big deal, load has mega time on it, got up and took a shower and sit down breakie, truck would not start, dead batts. Had the guys at the Petro not 22 yards away drive over and jump start, they charged $100 bucks. Was going to buy 4 new batts and have them install, they wanted $800 for the job. I asked about waving the jump start fee, they said no, so I took off. Picked up the new copy of TA/Petro's magazine with Trucker Steve on the cover and saw a deal on batteries that starts tomorrow, $10 bucks off each. Will buy them in Laredo and install myself and save about $240 bucks I estimate. -
Scottie .. go to a terminal ... batteries are under their own warranty ... got a full set installed for no charge last year.
