I have some permits expiring as well.
I was at a terminal last week, and they only still had the old ones.

I'm at the TA in Hurricane, WV. I deliver in Scottsville, KY tomorrow at 1300 - about 315 miles away.
Then I have to get myself to a terminal to get a B-service on my truck.

I have to do a B service in 6 or 8k miles, I will have to check on that. Do they normally warn you when its time or just have to watch and get to a terminal for it on your own?

I have delivered over near the corner of 98th and San Leandro St a few times before. I have arrived early and they told me to come back at my appointment time. Well, right up the street you can turn and park on any one of those side streets.

    Atlanta, heading to Detroit tomorrow.

PS. back when I was a company driver my truck was 4000 miles past due for a B service, they actually sent me a message that if the truck broke down I would have to pay to fix it. My understanding is that it is your DM's responsibility to make sure your truck gets serviced on time.

There are some that they will warn you about, and those are the very important ones, like cab cards, ins cert, the Alliance Hazmat, which we just received a warning on about 3-4 days ago. Some others they warn you about when you are going into different states, like ID and OR. If you have HAZ-Mat, check all of your state haz mat permits and also your state alcohol permits. I found the other day that many of mine were expired.

They warn you when it is due, but not with much time.
When the message comes in you'll probably only have a week or less to find your way to a terminal to get it done, or you go on hold.

In my case, my truck was due for a b service, so I went into the terminal to see if they had any other trucks available, which they had 3. They gave me all the keys to go check them out, I fired up all the trucks and took the one that did not auto shut down lol. Anyway I moved my crap into it and not 2weeks later was threatened that if the truck was not serviced soon I would have to pay to fix it. What I don't get is why the shop would check out and release a truck on the line when it is that close to a B service. Turns out they can't do them before they are due, only after,, it is a money thing.

Well, I'm not trading trucks if I can help it.
I got this one new, and it has been a very good truck.
I'll wait a few days in a shop if I have to, just to keep it.

At the Pilot in Salina, KS, drop-n-hook at the Target DC tomorrow morning in Topeka.

So far only junk offered on Mac30 and wouldn't you know it, they tried to plan me on one of those. I've learned to patient, frequently the best loads pop out at 10:00 am.

I seem to find the opposite.....take the first ones offered...its usually the best they have for my hours....later comes the junk...altho not always,haha....I like to play with my pta to see if it offers something else...sometimes it works to my advantage...also lately I have been getting planned the day before I drop....(that's a good thing)...and it almost always seems to be the best fit for my hours....
