I guess until I find an answer I will slow it down even while bt so I dont chance a fat ticket.

I have a ticket for 12 over the speed limit in a big truck. I have been told that 15 over is considered 'reckless' and may also be 'out of control of the CMV'. At 20 miles per hour over the speed limit, I think they just figure you don't want your license any more, so they go ahead and take it from you.
You gotta figure any little time you might save by speeding, in the end if you lost your license would not be worth it. Figure to lose your CDL for 3 years, at $50,000 a year, saving 10 minutes is worth $150,000 dollars?
What I do with my CDL is set it up every night in a little shrine on the dash surrounded by candles and pray to it along with some chants and deep meditation..inkeper, fr8monkey and Moosetek13 Thank this. -
When the sign says all trucks 35 it means all class 8 trucks bobtail or not I believe. also if you get caught speeding and not in the truck lane on the grapevine its a 1400 ticket minimum...
Moosetek13 and scottied67 Thank this. -
EDIT... Disregard. Deleted because I misunderstood the question and posted an irrelevant answer.

Alright, picked up a load on 110513 delivering 2200 miles on 110813. I'm halfway and only 21 hours left on the clock and set for Live Unload, lord help me. My GPS says to go along I-40W to I-17 S into Phoenix.
Ths Swift route says I-40W, US-180,AZ77,AZ377,AZ277,AZ260,AZ87S,AZ202-Loop W,AZ143 etc etc.
Anyway some of those roads are not highlighted as truck routing in my atlas, have any of you taken those 'grey' roads before through AZ and not gotten a ticket?Last edited: Nov 6, 2013

Is Swift pretty strict on following their routing?

Scottie, I know what they have you doing, coming down out of Holbrook threw Show Low, which is a place that we pick up paper loads, and coming down a little more and then coming in by around Mesa. Personally, I would stick with the GPS. Might save you a few hours as far as driving time.scottied67 Thanks this.

If you are out of route too much they will mention it, but I have never gotten in trouble for it.
Like scottie's trip, they sometimes try to stick me on all those back roads to save a few miles - but at the expense of time and fuel.
All that stop-n-go really eats it.
I'll usually just call my DM and let him know the route I want to take, as it would save both time and fuel. He usually agrees and lets me.
(Night and weekend DM's NEVER let me adjust the route. In that case I simply go the way I want.)
And in scottie's position, with so few hours to use, I would take the route that let me complete the load on-time and with enough time left on my clock.RightCoast and scottied67 Thank this.
