lol I got a laugh, I like Channing

A21 there isnt much for parking in any of that area near Oxnard, might be best to stop in Fontana/Mira Loma and then drive from there, there is also a TA in Ontario but they charge $20 to park for the night.

I slept in and started my day late, after delivering the first trailer I wanted to quit for the day since I wasnt feeling up to driving but I made myself go get another trailer anyway. As I was driving towards LA the traffic was getting really bad on the 210 going the other way especially with a burning vehicle and fire trucks and the 605 etc wasnt much better. I decided to reroute myself after dropping the trailer and I took the 5 north to the 14 then over to the 138 and on to the 395, it added about 15 miles but probably saved me a couple hours of traffic.

I kinda want to go see a movie tomorrow, been wanting to see the new Thor and a couple others, anyone know of a theater I can park at to see a movie in the area? Parked in Hesperia right now, normal route is the 15 to 210...

I like Channing too lol. Was going through my movies the other day and couldn't believe how many I have with him.

    Haywire
    Fighting
    21 Jump Street
    The Vow
    Magic Mike

Delivery set for tonite, should have about 5 hours left with 0 coming at midnight so taking a 24 hour break to refresh my Canada clocks as they don't celebrate American holidays like Thanksgiving- this way I might score some miles if everything is shut down next week.

yeah he is in a lot of movies these days, if you havent seen "white house down" with him then download it, its a pretty good movie, also has Jamie Foxx, I watched it about a month ago. I am waiting for that 22 jump street.

do you like doing canada runs? I thought about it before but never really looked into it, that was more towards the beginning though and nowadays I want to be more local.

found there is a theater in Hesperia 6 miles from the Pilot but it must be new since Google maps just shows a dirt field, has anyone been to that theater by any chance? I guess I could always call them just to make sure parking in their lot wont be an issue, I can go bobtailed at least.

I am leery of Canada runs because I have the dog. Last time I went up they broke the seal on the trailer and inspected and got up inside my truck and poked around too. Once past the border it's all gravy though. Not too many truck stops but they do have wide outs every few thousand meters that trucks can pull over for their rest.

My connection to 21 Jump Street-- back in 1990 I worked as a stand in for John Travolta in a movie called "Shout". Michael Bacall played one of the boys in the movie (he had a funny line about Heather Graham's ummm 'assets' lol) anyway, fast forward many years I discovered he wrote 21 Jump Street.

So I have my first WTF load with Swift. I sent MAC 9 accepting it as a tcall from the shipper to a yard. Then it became a tcall from yard to consignee. Still learning to use the elogs so I misread the summary thinking I was getting recap hrs today and would be no problem. It later clicked in my head and realized those hours aren't coming back until tomorrow. So I immediately sent in a MAC 22 and a freeform message detailing the problem, and when and where I would be shutting down if the wanted to relay it. This was done with lots of time left on the load. Got back a PTA update a little bit later and thought nothing of it. This morning I get a service failure message and a new ETA that I still cannot comply with due to HoS. Called weekend dispatch and said he would find out what the CSR wanted but there was nothing he can do about the service failure because I failed to make the delivery. So should I just talk with my DM tomorrow about it? This load was set up to fail from the start, and what's the point of me sending in the MAC 10 everyday if they aren't going to use that information to plan me? I really don't need a service failure on my record with only a week at the company but do understand I should have caught on to the problem from the start. It's been a frustrating week and this just iced the cake. Is it even worth fighting over to be removed?

When did the load offer change? If it changed after they assigned the load, and if that change would then impact your ability to deliver the load on time, then you have a definite beef. In that case you should talk to your DM and if not satisfied with the result ask to speak to his/her supervisor.

I've had numerous instances of accepting load offers with Mac-9, then when the load is assigned the times have changed, sometimes making it difficult or impossible to meet the deadline. This is often computer driven by the "Plus 1" system, which is designed to give you a goal to shoot for on a load in order to try to add one more load per week to your total.

When those changes happen I will then enter the original ETA when I enter my Mac-2 Loaded Call. This generates an automated Qualcomm message that notes I have entered a time that is behind schedule, I need to contact my DM, and do a Mac-22. At that point I do a Mac-22, indicate I'm at the shipper, and in the reason for the "delay" note that I have entered the ETA "per the original load offer and did not agree to the new time". I also send a freeform message to my DM noting that I accepted the load based on the original ETA and if there are any issues with that then they can either relay or t-call the load. I've never had any problems using this procedure in terms of service failures.
