I got a service failure for doing that.
I even got a message back telling me OK.
But I still have that service failure on my record, and nothing my DM has been able to do has gotten it removed.

The best thing is to enter the time provided by the load assignment into the Mac2, and then follow up with a Mac22 with the time agreed to in the final pplan - and with that reason.
Using that method has worked for me so far.
The one time I did it differently, like I said, I got a SF.

I dont do splits at all, i have done only 1 and it was because planners were messaging me waking me up one morning telling me my appointment changed by 3 hours and that it was in 15 minutes from the time the message was sent and I was 35 miles away....so I did the split and then the shipper says the time never changed.

enjoying my days off, drove to Bakersfield and did some shopping at costco and walmart which seems to be my routine nowadays, my w2 came today from Swift so I just finished doing all my taxes tonight and they are ready to automatically file on the 31st. Finally decided to buy me a decent sleeping bag for the truck as well so i can scrap all the blankets and sheets and it will be easier transporting back and forth to wash weekly.

Plus 1 has to be working against us sometimes, take the example of a 0800 appointment and Plus 1 says get it there at 0200. What if the customer doesn't open til 0700? So the driver has lost 5 hours waiting for the customer to open and possibly ran out of the 14 hour clock and therefore has to 'run illegal' to violate the Hours of Service to service this customer. I've heard some guys do it, go to sleeper outside the customer's gate and move in and get unloaded off duty driving to get to the dock then either off duty or sleeper to keep off the violation radar and get the 10 hour break on.

If you didn't want to break the law and do a full 10, the customer may or may not not take your load at noon and reschedule for the next morning, Fail, Minus 1

These are the things that frustrate me the most, let's take it back to the way it used to be, show the full pick up and delivery windows.

Exit 201 on I-80 in IA. Stopped first at Kwik Star since I was in the mood for a good meal tonight. Their internet was not working, so up here to the Peelot. Today was a 300 miles day of 30 mph headwinds/crosswinds, blowing snow and some whiteout conditions south of Dubuque on US-151. Finished off the day with a whopping 5.4mpg. I can never get a break up here when it comes to wind. The forecast shows the winds dropping to 10, but still coming out of the SW, all the way to Wichita. Looks like a great drive across US-54 again. With the temp and the wind, which I am shielded from, I can not even get the temp in the bunk up to 70. Guess that I will be idling again tonight. this is the first winter in the past three that I have actually idled.

Maybe it was my 30 year career in telecom ... but I've found it's pretty easy to pick up a phone and get the windows and/or confirm appointment time with the customer ...

    It is.

But if it happens to be a weekend or after hours, it might not be so easy.
Night and weekend people often refuse to tell me the windows.
"Just do the Mac9 with the times you can do it!", is the response I get from many of them.
