Speaking of trip planning, parking is more of a hassle overwidth too, you don't just fit any place. I don't know what your normal style is, but you probably want to be a bit more strategic about where and how you park than normal because it's not just thinking about the possibility of some yahoo taking your hood off, but now he/she may pinstripe your load too if you give an opportunity for such shenanigans to take place. TS without lined parking spaces tend to be popular with OS.

Some states require you to have fuel stops listed on permit route.
I would buy an annual Wisconsin ($99).
If you think you'll do a couple permit loads in a year. Good for 12 consecutive months, not expire at the end of calenders year.
12' 6" wide. Plate steel is easy. A box 8' high plenum a little more skill needed.
Each state has a website for oversize. If you're going to haul oversize. Read them now, so you know what is required.
Every state is different.
Parking at night usually this time of year ,with an oversize, you'll park with plenty of parking available. 500-550 miles of travel a day. Sunset around 5pm.
Summer time more daylight, you can have a harder time finding parking at sunset.
Good luck.Last edited: Dec 27, 2019
