I recieved myself a lifetime ban from all united states steel corporation properties in the entire country !! LOL to be honest i really dont give a #### they are doing me a favor... I have never even so much as gotton into an argument with any customers or forklifts guys EVER.. But this steel mill just outside of detroit , the lady working the warehouse was all pissed off because i had never been there and didnt know how they run #### in their warehouse, long story short after dealing with this lady i get my coil, she tells me pull up and to the right side so we can get other trucks loaded. And u can take ur time chaining and tarping over there. Cool no problem... Well this idiot forklift driver come out hoopin n hollerin to "get out of his effin way ur blocking MY warehouse, go tarp that #### outside !" after movin outside i went over and had a word with him , told him the dumb lady inside told me to chain it up inside so thats why i was there u effin moron, "ur blocking MY warehouse ! "... Mind u it was raining outside , ...the thing is i have no problem chaining and tarping outside thats how most steel mills work.. But if they tell me i can work inside and then somebody comes out and completely disregards what the loader just told me and disrespects me for no reason , that is just uncalled for... So Me and this forklift driver went back and forth at eachother , i called him about every name in the book... And you know what it honestly felt great....i dont take that abuse from nobody , especially a low life forklift driver that claims to own the warehouse.. Needless to say they frickin banned me from all their properties in the entire country ! I wish i wasnt a company driver or i wouldve dumped that ####in coil right in the mud , is what i shouldve done, but i didnt feel like gettin fired 2000 miles away from home, ... If yall ever get sent to united states steel in detroit, think twice about it , for sure

You should have asked the forklift guy, "If this is your warehouse, why the frick are you running a forklift, shouldn't you be up at the head office????"

Draw the line in the sand.

Mine is being disrespected or treated like a child.

I’ll weigh the $ to soul factor, and make a decision.

I can eat a lot of pride for $$, but the one load I told them to ‘take it off the truck ‘ - best feeling ever.

Just remember to weigh the consequences.

I used to haul fiberglass tanks occasionally for a local company here in Monroe, La. After I went to about 3 chemical plants with those & had to put up with all teh rules & regulations, every time the company called me about hauling a load, I'd ask where its going. If it was a chemical plant, I suddenly remembered I was gonna be in Detroit that day. I never hauled another load to a chemical plant for them or anyone else. I was an O/O at the time.
The last company I worked for, I occasionally had to go to chicken processing plants. I wont ever go to food plants/warehouses again. Until they learn some manners & respect, I wont either. They can get someone else to haul their stuff. If no one else will haul it, I have no pity for them.

I've done that before.. after I warned them that I would IF they didn't escalate the loading process.
They were putting on a skid about every 30 minutes on a load with strict in/out and delivery times.

Their mouths dropped open when I said, "GET IT OFF! I'M GONE!"

I get tired very quickly, of ‘procedure and safety’ over ‘logic and productivity ‘.

You sound more level headed than myself, I would have pulled outside and let the coil roll off the trailer and kept on driving like nothing happened. lol
