If only people knew how tuned higher hp trucks ran. People would start asking who’s got the tuned trucks lol.

Once you do a tune you can hit those triple digits quite fast most trucks without governors can’t do faster than 80.

I love when I’m passing the white Chicago Volvo’s at 65 then all of a sudden they want to drive 75.. then I become the enemy... pre emissions tuned Detroit’s roll a lot of coal when the foot is flat

...Usually wants to do 5 mph under the limit, UNTIL you appear in his left mirror. Then it’s time to floor it.:rolleyes:

Our trucks are 65, unless if they're turned up to 70... that's only for high mileage runs.

I don't even know why this is a topic posted in the LTL forum. Most people going to LTL aren't concerned about speed and chrome, it's all about higher pay and being home daily. Most of us in LTL recognize that trucks are tools and not toys - leave that to the cowboys away from home weeks at a time and trucking as a 'lifestyle' full of adventure.

The few that flew by me were day cab trucks pulling doubles. All of them were Volvo

I think a few go 72, but those are usually few and far between. Most turned up trucks are 68 or 70. There are a lot of companies faster than us: FXF, R&L, Pitt-Ohio, Pyle, UPSF, Estes... easier to think of the ones that are slower, like ABF and YRC. The only time I can't pass YRC is when Werner or Schneider is pulling their trailers.

You haven't been around long enough to pass a Prime truck then? 55 mph roadblock.
