On the lighter side of things, it would've been a hilarious twist of fate if they just worked the trailer remains into the new bridge construction. "YOU WANTED A COVERED BRIDGE?!?!? WELL HERE IT IS!!!"

Not a truck, but could be a good idea for some post apoc art work like this.

Maybe they were waiting for just such an occurrence so someone else could pay for a new bridge.

My Tahoe's registured weight is around 8400 I probably would not have touched that bridge remembering how one pipe truss (Even older dating to about 1876) used to creak and squeal under our little Datsun before the new concrete bridge was completed as a pernament bypass in Maryland. Once bypassed, they chopped out both ends so it's impossible to drive anything onto it without a 10 foot climb on either end.

Maybe this is a case of a Bakersfield goat roper who struggles with the English language and can’t comprehend road signs.

He had to have been beating the top of his cab and trailer to hell with all the tree branches as soon as he turned off the main road. That should have been his first clue he was on a path big trucks are not supposed to be on. You don’t need a firm grasp on the English language to hopefully figure that much out.

That’s why I couldn’t be a cop. If I was the first one on the scene, I would have ascertained who drove that truck onto the bridge, then proceeded to beat him down just for being a moron and defrauding the state that issued him a CDL.

I would. If he had gotten his speed up to about 50 mph, he could have made it.
