You should definitly learn to read a map and when u get within a few miles you cant always depend on the GPS and should always use mac 23 and mac 12 and make sure it mstches the shippers directions

I know very well I made a mistake and trusted the gps and go stuck in the mud within site of shipper because it took me down a old closed road with the road only saying no outlet which we see a lot near warehouses well I tried take a durt path because t there was no where to turn around and this ros d was 2miles long hilly and curvy so I took a path other trucks had done the same thing I suppose bad mistake I paid for the mistake and have learn dont trust the gps

I use the GPS when i get lost and need to find a main route, i think the worst GPS i ever had was in my ex wife's 2005 Prius, it would lie on a lot of stuff " you have arrived at your destination" I'm in a middle of a dirt field with no buildings in sight stupid GPS....
They have gotten better compared to then but still have problems depending where your going

I don't normally use the qualcomm gps because every time it wants to say something the little truck speaker above my head goes silent (have the whole qualcomm set for silent) which is way annoying, but also because the rand mcnally and Swift directions mac 12 and 23 are usually good enough. Those few times I did use the qualcomm navigation, I found it annoying if you missed the turn for example, it will lock up and ask if you want to re-route. Click Yes then it says go back to the route instead of helping (recalc) from where you might be at the present time.

Did I mention that I hate when the qualcomm wants to talk? I hate that everytime you touch it it has to say Home Messaging. I was able to go into the Settings and move the sound bars all the way to zero, such peace when trying to sleep, no beeps when messages come in like the old qualcomm. I tried to log out to see if it would stop all messages altogether but they still kept coming in lol

At it's core a GPS is nothing more than a map ... know how to read a map and the GPS is a powerful tool ... don't know how to read a map, sooner or later the GPS is going to lead you into a disaster.
