I have a garmin and hate it. It tells me to go places that i know i shouldnt be. I do like how it shows the name of the road ahead but i was highly disappointed in the accuracy.

I have a garmin and really like it the 770 but the speed limits on it are wrong more than they are right. I drove about 2000 miles this week and no joke it displayed the wrong speed limit for over 1000 of them.

Oh wow lol that's not to big of a problem. It's just the glitches and inaccuracy I'm worried about when searching a GPS

The speed limits have changed so often and so much as of late...
My RM has the same 'problem'.

The GPS people can not be held directly responsible for that, in my opinion.
They can not have people out there 24/7 reporting all the speed limits of all the roads at all times.

    Lunchbox379 Thanks this.

I like my RM TND 530. I want the bigger one now. Which ever one you choose, make sure your settings are right. Choose fastest route not shortest ect... Call recieving ahead to make sure the road matches map info. Then take the 5 min to double check the route. I add via stops to keep it from taking me around in circles or adding 1hr by going through cities instead of bypass.

    Moosetek13 and Lunchbox379 Thank this.

Smart truck route is an android app, it isn't perfect but it's way cheaper. It has done me fine, but you need to Pay attention to signs. Hasn't routed me on restricted roads and I have 30 trips or so on it.

I have it, it's decent, it helped out a lot in chicago when i first started, but I rarely use it now, since I am local and go to mostly the same stops

David Schwarz and bottomdumpin Thank this.

Can you add stops by touching the screen where you want to add the stop? Our old GPS would let us do that instead of adding a stop by using the menu. It was very convenient

Gps is a great tool. However always double check with your paper road atlas. I cannot stress that enough. I find myself using gps, my rand McNally road atlas and google earth. After I got those three dialed in I call my shipper or receiver and see what they say as far as directions. So far I haven't ended up in a place without a way out. And don't wanna end up on twisted truckers :) btw o use rand McNally gps
