Did you hear about the big truck that was blown off the Chesapeake bridge today? Sad story the driver survived the fall but died later. Some bridges are just creepy and that's one of them!

The produce market smells bad enough. I can imagine the meat market smells even better.

I've never been in the produce side but I've never noticed any bad smells there ..I think they keep things pretty tidy there overall .
I've been at mountain States Rosen on Friday nights when they are cleaning up and its a little messy until the rendering truck leaves but no where near as messy as a packing plant lot.

    Crusader66 Thanks this.

Perhaps they don't do things like the produce side then. You see, they throw all the trash and unwanted #### in front of the docks and in between the trailers where it gets mashed into a nice garbage puree. Then about midday, the yard jockeys move all the trailers away from the docks into the middle, then use Bobcats and frontend loaders to scoop up the mess and take it away... which does nothing for the fermented garbage juice on the ground.

Oh wow ! No not that way on the meat side at all , worst you'll see is some blood colored water in the lot at days end when they wash the docks .
    Well worn but clean .
West side foods kosher dock was kinda nasty by meat dock standards but that was as bad as I ever saw .

    Today was interesting .
I hit the road at daylight with that banana load that I couldn't deliver on time and dispatcher was right on the phone pointing the finger at me as I expected but I was prepared for this and had already done the math .
Best case scenario was I could have delivered to wal mart 5 hours late if things went perfectly.
This of course pissed him off and he was short with me and hung up on me .
About 10 minutes later he calls back all sunshine and lollipops telling me to relay it to another driver at eufaula ok
...good guy bad guy routine lol.
So I haul arse up here and talk with the driver who's taking the load on to moberly mo and find out he lives in waxahatchie tx and has been empty there since Monday and was bouncing empty to okla city to go on the list when dispatch called him to take my load on tonight....huh ?!
He also said he likes the company but not happy with the miles and my pissy dispatcher told him he boned up on my load apparently not looking at my hours ..not my problem!
I'm deadheading to ark city ks in the morning for a trailer going to Omaha and paid miles for the week will be 1937 unless they come up with something to do on Sunday .
Week 2 has been pissy dispatch, low miles , lack of communication and no east coast .
    Not impressed.

    Panhandle flash Thanks this.

It will probably come to that Vic but as meat hauler friend of mine pointed out today lent is coming up along with a Jewish holiday of some kind so meat is slow at the moment .
Heard Nebraska beef in Omaha had no extra east coast orders that shipped today ..ie: loads that went to brokers .
As far the other deal I'll just hold my tongue for now .

    Vic Firth Thanks this.
