The plant tossed some crap load my way goin to jersey and mass and Bill my dispatcher told em to pound sand .
Took a Milwaukee load for Monday .
Suns out in Omaha Michael and about 35 degrees.Panhandle flash, The Kraut, Vic Firth and 3 others Thank this. -
Wasn't my favorite week. After my early delivery in IL I was sitting for 6 hrs till I got a load, headed to Bollywood eehm Bolingbrook, picked up and just made it out with 50 min left on my 14.
Had again to start my day very early to deliver in KC. On the way down there I got a call, there was a driver who had to go back to Denver, an emergency so we swapped trailers at the receiver. Had to wait 2 hrs till he got there and then headed towards... Illinois.
Was running out of hrs again early and had to start again early in the morning. Two drops, 5 miles apart with an 11 and 15 o'clock appointment. First drop went smooth, second took a bit longer, got a load from Bolingbrook to KC area again. Till I got my paperwork at the last drop it was too late to pick up the same day so I spent my night in Bollywood and loaded Thursday morning. Delivered Friday morning and headed back to the yard, last 10 miles snow and ice.
My plan was to be in Omaha Thursday night to reset my hrs, but dispatch had other plans.
Truck went to the shop, APU serviced, AC checked and I went to the mandatory safety meeting that was announced since a while.
Talked to Bill when I arrived and he asked me SoCal or NorCal? Whatever is better to get me home next week and I got a SoCal.
Back in my truck and I called shipping to check on my load. Surprise, my load was done
Had about 3 hrs left on my 14 and headed West.
I-80 was a big mess, roads still icy due to blowing snow and lots of wrecks, mainly between York and Grand Island.
Stopped in Grand Island for the night. 13 F in the morning, two weeks ago 93 F in the Oklahoma panhandle.
Sitting in Grand Junction CO now, fortunately I took I-70, checked I-80 in the morning and it was open, but I know how it is with the blowing snow and the lack of salt in WY. 80 is closed again
It started snowing before Vail Pass but only traction law for four wheelers, bit snow on the road but no problems and no wrecks.Panhandle flash, Ooops, cnsper and 1 other person Thank this. -

Made it to Barstow, I-15 before Primm NV the usual backup, 6 miles.
About 10 miles before the Agricultural Inspection Station I nearly killed a family in their SUV. The SUV pulled in my lane from the shoulder about 200 ft in front of me, braking, looking in the mirror, turn signal and pulling to the left lane within a second, fortunately the car behind me in the left lane reacted fast and braked. Saw me rear ending this ####ing idiot. There was about 5 inches of room between my truck and the SUV when I swerved.
Later he passed my and flipped me the bird.
At home there is my new dash cam waiting for me, just arrived this week, I'm so tired of these idiots.
Before Primm, some cars pulled to the shoulder and passed the standing traffic, suddenly there was a cop with flashing lights and pulled out the first one. Karma is a #####Panhandle flash, Ooops, bzinger and 2 others Thank this. -

Vic Firth, The Kraut, Shock Therapy and 1 other person Thank this. -
Would have been a great footage of a brain dead driver. Hope this will never happen again to me. If there would have been a car beside me in the left lane I would have hit him.
Sitting in L.A. since my delivery this morning, have a load picking up after noon tomorrow.
Will be paid a layover, then heading to Denver. And then... home for a few days offVic Firth Thanks this.
