I come from German stock too (my Grandpa spoke it fluently). Originally from Carroll, Ia. Did a stint in Germany in the Mainz/Weisbaden area. LOVED the old country!! Don't remember much German, was there '89-'90. Bout all I remember anymore is "Ich mochte ein bier bitte!"...you know..the important things lol ;) Anyways good to meet fellow Iowans on here!

All I know is that being that live in Omaha I'll be out and back ..probably going to depend on where you live .
Was told the Midwest guys are home most weekends .
Pay on or not per diem is your choice.

LOL sounds like a Carroll girl. I stayed away from them...got me a Coon Rapids gal...31 years married now. I got #### lucky! She's been thru hell and back with me and never wavered once. I am truly blessed :D

Usually you get a load to Omaha or near Omaha (can be 600 miles away), or from the West you go thru Denver and then back to Omaha. They try to get you back to the yard most of the time.
Had it once from the Denver area to Virginia :)

Seems you still know one of the most important sentences in German ;)

That's my son's middle name, and my late father's first name. In SOME language, I'm sure it means "stubborn~!" LoL.

Well dispatch just called and no Bronx load so tonight I'll be leaving for a Monday drop in rockville center ny and central Islip NY ..long island speak.
Already know what I'm doing coming back too.
Got a pick in the Bronx and a pick in Jersey coming straight back to Omaha then drop the trailer and go home .

Be on your best behaviour, Zing.. my wife was born in Long Eyeland NY...... I could tell you some stories.. That's why she can drive like the best of us boys; it's where she learned. When we go to gun shows, fairs, etc... she drives. She don't take no sheeite. At times, she has a bigger pair hidden somewhere, LoL.! Congrats man; be safe.

Well after taking a couple days off after orientation I put all my stuff in my truck this afternoon and got ready to head out for long island .
Unfortunately my trailer wasn't ready at the plant yet so got to spend a few hours waiting .
Having never hauled out of greater O before and only tyson and cargill I #### near dropped dead with shock from the friendly attitudes I got from the gaurd shack and the shipping office ...nota a typical pack plant !
They will even call you when your trailer is ready !
Then went down the street to the company scale to axle out no cash outlay and no idiots blocking the scale .
Also met with Brent the manager of the trucking division today and found out he is an ex driver and very approachable and down to earth .
Left Omaha and went over to des Moines for the night .
    Quite impressed so far .

    G13Tomcat and cnsper Thank this.

Also got a load from Greater O, heading to Providence. They shag our trailers to our yard for us, then the driver gets the BOLS from the guard, if it's after hrs.

I love not having to deal with the Tyson and JBS's myself.

Am ahead of you in Illinois now.

Are your o utbounds strictly Greater O?

The Kraut and bzinger Thank this.
