I've had an interesting week at Greater O. I left out Monday for a pickup in Edwardsville to bring me up to Omaha. Got there with time to spare, only to be told it was called in, but doesn't ship til the 20th. Perfect. So I bounced to Omaha, got in, dropped my trailer on the MT line in thoughts I'd grab a load from our plant and camped out for the night at our yard. Well I thought wrong. Grabbed an MT and swapped in Columbus NE destined for Memphis. The appoint time for Memphis was not doable as my Freightliner lacks the rocket option. But dispatch was on it immediately and before I could even finish thinking "I don't think this is gonna happ..." they called and got me a new appointment time. Delivered at 0001 in the morning Thursday in Memphis and reloaded in Middleton, TN for Carter Lake, IA. I was supposed to go and drop at the yard and hook onto another Memphis but amidst my slumber I got messages on the quail call telling me to just take this to the house. Can do will do! I will say tho at the consignee in Memphis it was me and about 6 Maverick temp controlled trucks. I've seen the new Freightliner body style going down the road, but a couple of them had them that night, upon closer inspection I think they look pretty tough. That deep maroon with white trailers and black lettering with a big spade is a pretty slick look I will say. So I'm hanging out in Blytheville waiting for my hours to catch up and home for the weekend. Not a ton of paid miles this week as I only made one delivery and this doesn't unload til Monday so it'll miss the cutoff. But I was happy with last weeks check and this'll start next pay period good!
