Got your message. Was dead to the world at that time. Getting to old for these overnight drives, especially when I'm trying to make up time cause Greater O came out 5 hrs late.
Shock Therapy Thanks this. -
Aside from the departure of my good friend @bzinger I had a good week at Greater O. I unloaded early Wednesday in Memphis and reloaded in Humboldt, TN with drops in Lincoln and Ewing Nebraska. They were due to deliver Friday but I was able to get up there a day early and get it approved with dispatch to deliver them early. Everything went good I think the longest of the 2 drops took maybe 20 minutes. And got in some really nice state road driving. It's nice to get off the interstates every once in awhile. Was sent to Shuyler NE for a delivery Friday to Springfield, MO. Got to the facility and the trailer wasn't loaded yet. No problem. Dropped it there bobtailed to the truck stop got some pizza and hunkered down. They called as soon as it was ready and it was 10 hours and 13 minutes since I parked. Perfect! Went back over, hooked onto it, bounced it over the nearest scale and got to Springfield mid morning. That didn't even take an hour and as I called in to dispatch to let them know I was done, they had already seen I was running pretty close on my 70. "Lets just get you to your house and reset we'll call ya Monday" Another good weekend at home with 3,137 miles to boot. I will say tho Sapp Bros might be my favorite truck stop. I scaled at Columbus NE earlier this week and they allow a reweigh for free. So that was awesome. Then in Fremont I stopped in the wee hours of the morning, they didn't have any breakfast sandwiches ready so the dude behind the counter gamme 2 cheeseburgers for free! I know this sounds trivial but it's lil stuff like that, that I feel makes recurring customers. It made one out of me!

BTW, since I started with GO in Nov 15 I ran now 203000 miles with this Volvo, knock on wood, no breakdown, just a few minor repairs, best truck I've driven (beside the Scania in Europe) since I started 37 years ago
The longest times off I had was one week each for my cataract surgeries and 9 days when I moved from Nevada to New Mexico. All not really relaxingVic Firth, Shock Therapy, tony97905 and 3 others Thank this. -
Well in the absence of @bzinger and @The Kraut being on vacation I guess I'll update. I picked up Monday in St. Louis and dropped it in our yard in Omaha then camped out. Put my truck in the shop for a PM, gave a road test to a new hire then grabbed an MT and went up to Columbus NE to grab a preloaded trailer. So I thought. "Well we are running a little behind give us your number and we'll call when it's ready." Hit sleeper berth as soon as I heard those words and 10 1/2 hours later they called saying I was done. Drove all night and got parked around 1 p.m in Hayti, MO with 29 minutes left to drive. I let Dispatch know about the delay in loading and they pushed my appointment time back a few hours just to be safe, and confirmed I was getting some detention time. The consignee down here in Memphis is actually pretty cool I don't think they care what time you get here as long as you're here between receiving hours, they just wanna know what's comin. Least that's my take anyway. But as luck would have it I made it in time for my original appointment anyway. Getting unloaded now and gonna get another round of fresh hours for tomorrow. Sounds like I'm picking up in Little Rock headed back to Omaha. I will say tho I-55 crossing into Arkansas leaves a lot to be desired for road condition wise. It's a screw loosener that's for sure
