Hey zinger just curious, will Greater O let u change a fuel filter on your own or do they prefer a shop do it instead? Some companies don't want the driver doing anything mechanical.

I don't think you would want to do it on this engine , theres 3 filters and I watched the mechanic do it looked like a pain in the can and without compressed air hard to reprime ..there's no lift pump on these engines .
Was told when I hired on my job is drive it , pre trip it , keep fluid levels up , keep it clean and call the shop if there's a problem.
I'm fine with that too cause if I wanted to go back to wrenching I'd get a job in the shop.

A rocky start Vic but can't say a bad word about greater O .
In fact with the delays I know if this was tyson/ibp or cargill they're would have been hell to pay but being a shippers truck all dispatch said was don't worry about it .

I would think checking the filter would be like the first thing they check!

Was with you on the closed yesterday, different place, same state. Mine was westbound mm178. I was actually out about the 202, and by the time the road opened, backup was almost 35 miles.

Between that and the flat I had..... a really long day.

And it's snowing in Pittsburgh. Yea.

Good news is they have lots of overnight parking and the gaurd at the gate was cool .

Last 2 days wernt good but today sucked !
sysco in central Islip is very accommodating on parking and for sysco is pretty quik .
Stop 2 in rockville center was a restaurant on a 2 lane busy street with no dock and #### hard to get turned around .
Too late to get my 1st pick made on 39th street in Brooklyn so went to an old camping spot of mine at peninsula Blvd and Rockaway pike only to find fresh signs posted stateing that I will be immediately towed ...sob !!
Wound up heading back thru rush hour back out to Sysco to hide here for the night .
I told dispatcher I'll do long island if nothing else to do but id just as soon do the Bronx market and stay away from long island restaurants.
    He agreed .

Panhandle flash and Shock Therapy Thank this.

We do a lot of the Restaurant Depot's, in and around NYC plus a few other oddball places. Most all of them suck. I don't mind the market myself, least they have parking.
