I appreciate you taking the time to break down these numbers. I’ve been researching and debating for a couple months whether I should choose lease or company when my tnt training is completed in a few weeks. The problem is that out of the 70 or so lease operators I’ve read posts from / watched YouTube videos from, not one person will say what their net annual income was and what their gross was. They only show 1 month, or don’t specify what they consider “Net” to be.
It would be more helpful than I can express if anyone would be willing to tell me and others on here what amount of money was added to your bank account after tire fund, fuel, all fixed costs, taxes, and whatever else I may be unaware of were deducted.

Where I’m stuck: A post I read stated Prime coerces/reprimands fleet managers from giving lease operators greater than 1.50 per mile average for the year. IS THIS TRUE? How much do you actually make per mile? Does cpm range from 1.70 to 2.70? I’ve seen a person on YouTube showing 2.70 a mile with deductions of 1.56 a mile. Are they only showing the best month out of the year? Can I expect to make above $2 per mile?

Sorry for the long post. But is anyone willing to answer this? Annual gross and net income. I’d like to know how much you got back in tax write offs too as I’d factor that into the cpm. All in all what’s the cpm, and the deductions per mile as a lease operator?

So far if I go company I believe I will make 40-50k take home net after taxes, and company insurance for myself as a single person. Breakdown on those numbers is 3000 mi x (.44 cpm reefer + .02 cpm safety bonus + .02 cpm on time delivery bonus + .03 cpm fuel bonus) = 1,530 - 117.73 for first year associate only insurance (not factoring in additional life insurance options, etc.) Assuming I take off 3 days of home time each month, I’ll be paid a total of 47 weeks. That totals 66,376.69 gross.
Using (South Carolina Paycheck Calculator | SmartAsset.com) my home state is SC, 1,010 is the net weekly paycheck I’ll recieve being a company driver ASSUMING I score the safety and on time bonuses of .02 cpm AND get a .03 cpm fuel bonus which can range from .01 - .05 cpm I’m not exactly sure. 48k net annually is ### pay to be driving 3000 miles a week. I must be wrong? Someone tell me my math is wrong. I’m a rookie, yes. And I plan to save up to buy my own truck so that I can make as much as the ppl on here with expierence. But until that happens I’d like to make the right choice, company or lease in terms of what’s most profitable assuming I am good at managing my business.

This is why I’m leaning towards lease. For the opportunity to be more profitable with my time

    Thank you for reading!

F1B0A981-B522-49CB-A10D-30D255ADE398.png Here is a snapshot of my to the truck revenue, straight from my Loves account. (They do my factoring). I work about 20 to 23 days a month average. I run Reefer. Live in Wisconsin. Like to run a “box” down to Texas nothing past I35 then towards the east PA is the end of the line. I have had my own Authority for about 15 months now. Have 2016 Freightliner I bought new willl be paid off in a few months. Have a used Utility 300R with 4500 hours on it paid off I do NOT bust my rear. But you got to be smart. Depending on fuel price I end up with 60 to 66% in my pocket after all expenses are paid. Numbers don’t lie. The yellow bar is what Loves collects.

I pull reefer my goal 6000 wk. Problem with boards is you do the DH and loaded miles it turns out to be 2 day run for 1 day pay thats why its on the board. Or your log is running at reciever. Or you pu load at 2pm shipper loads at 4pm load has 643mi . You haul as to delivery arrive at 0430. 10hr break over at 1430 next day. Power up load board loads all gone . You lost a day load paid cheap but you in a decent lane . Was it worth it . Nope it never is.
I personnally have struggled to get 5 wk since July rates keep dropping 1400.00 lane today paying 800.00 but thats XPO for ya . New Prime same deal.

You see the numbers. I don’t ever run like that. Stay away from the big guys and you will be fine. I do a cheese load out of the house 62 mile deadhead, I ask and get a 10 am Load time. Loaded in an hour or leas. Temp 35. 230 mile straight thru apt time 1900 off by 2100 sleep right there 1100.00 to the truck. It’s really that simple. Don’t do Sysco, HEB, etc they are ridiculous period. I don’t deadhead much. The more that time passes the better I do and the better connections I make. I have no direct shippers.
