I should have read more into the post before responding.
As a lease purchase operator,.. You learn very little in regards to what being an independant owner operator is about.
You say you dont want to be micro-managed. Someone correct me if I am wrong,.. But evdryone I have talked to thats done it or is doing it, say all you are is a company driver with a truck payment. Your pulling company loads, chasing company miles. Your entire livelihood depends on them.
In my humble opinion,.. The only thing your learning/doing is buying a truck. Once done, you have not learned how to be in business, book your own loads with your own customers. None of it.
I wish you luck.

I'd run low miles that pay well so they don't gouge me on my maintenance account.
Running a lease with a company dispatcher is suicide..you'll just make enough to make the payments..and don't expect to go home.csmith1281 Thanks this. -

IDK maybe it's time to take a few steps back & reassess - sounds like OP is in a bit deep here.
But for my own edification, I know many experienced drivers absolutely detest L/P programs so is it better to do a few years as a company driver & figure these many details out to the best of your ability while making good friends with some successful O/Os & then taking the dive? It strikes me that the O/O, with quite a bit of risk, can make 2 or 3 times, NET, what the company driver can - is this true?nightgunner and csmith1281 Thank this.
