What is your expected average rate per mile AFTER Prime takes their cut?

Your assumptions seem sound to me, but I think I will be doing better than that on fuel. Prime company drivers are required to get 8 miles per gallon to get their quarterly bonus (so I'm guessing Prime has a leg up on fuel economy somehow someway), and even up here in New Jersey, I can buy discounted fuel at $2.20 per gallon.

I do between 5 and 7k a week running off the boards. I pull a flatbed and run usully 2500 to 2800 miles a week...
I do however pull 50% of my own freight.
I also pay 7k a year for insurance do all my own filings etc etc.. not to mention tags have gone up to 1,950.00 a year in my state.. with the eld mandate I can't
    Make it..
Been doing this #### since 1988.. about ready to get out.

I have only been dispatched on three loads, but it has ranged from $1.30 to $2.04…including deadhead.

If you are running off the load boards, do you have to have your own authority?

Why can't you make it with the ELD mandate? How does electronic logs make trucking more expensive?

I'd tell ya what my fixed costs are but it would probably make you cry.

Now i haven't had a truck payment in a decade but last time i bought a new truck my payment was right around 1600 a MONTH. 881 a week truck payment is just ridiculous.

If its a true walk away lease like you said, walk away. Go get a company job cause with those costs and pulling an average of a buck 70 a mile freight you are literally making less money than a company driver. Actually don't walk away. Run away. Fast as you can.
